It took me a while but I think I know why the song is titled "cat food"
When cats are fed, they just kinda go with whatever they're given. They don't get a choice, yet still go along with whatever is put in their dish since they don't have the ability to speak up and ask for anything different.
From the singer's perspective, she is in a relationship that kinda works the same way. "I don't like your angry face / I don't like your smiling face either." like a cat, she lacks the ability to speak up and change anything

I love this song so much. I interpret it as someone with avoidant attachment style, like how a cat typically is.
