Tip for the ackee: drain the ackee and cook the salt fish then just add the ackee at the end and let it steam and cook through at the end.

piggybacking off what someone else commented , once you have drained the ackee let it be the very last thing you place in the pot and don't mix it. Turn off the fire and cover the pot, let the steam cook through the ackee and when you are ready to serve gently mix..delicately mix it with a wooden spoon. This will help prevent the ackee mashing up. What you cooked looked scrumptious 😋❤🇯🇲

Add the ackee after you cook the veggies n saltfish right at the last minute. Don't stir it too much or it will mash up enjoy x

Hey Sammi... hi from Jamaica 🇯🇲...try. using a flat spatula to gently stir Ackee. Scoop from bottom then turn. It helps to prevent breaking it up

Hey Sam. Not sure if you’ll see this comment. You can thoroughly rinse the ackee with warm tap water then drain and throw it into the pot with the vegetables. That’s what my mom does when she doesn’t boil the ackee in hot water.
