I live in the Caribbean in Antigua and Barbuda we have been using the silent headphones for years. We even have mass events for example there is one called ‘ hush’ and that has 3 different djs at one time
Weve done quite a few pf these and theyre always a massive hit. We do 3 djs and battle it out on who can get the most people on their color. It's way more fun than anyone every expected including our company. Even people who said "that looks really stupid" tried it and came back like "I'm not gonna lie, that was a LOT of fun!"
As much as I prefer the more bass heavy setup of speakers and subs, I think silent discos have their place considering how many venues get warnings and fines for noise violations.
We started seeing quiet clubs in NYC 5 years ago and in Philly 4 years ago. I’ve danced with them and spun through them. It’s a lot of fun. Large, multi, genre room clubs have been replaced by small lounges. This allows you to have 3-5 different gendered/DJs in one venue.
they're not a big hit in NYC like they are in LA. Mostly because in NYC dancing is a lifestyle and people want to experience loud music and be able to talk and interact with each other.
Nice review! You going to love them to be honest in Chicago where I am I have done ton of slient parties especially with slient DJ companies would rent venues and have have 3 Djs with 3 different music genres it’s kinda cool the venues be pack with 300 ppl that a lot of headphones! Already got my own for packages it’s a good investment
Very interesting Cleveland. I guess we pay more attention or we've heard more this time around because of our current situation pandemic. Thanks you for taking the time to educate us on silent disco. Take care.😷😷
As Always, I appreciate your videos. I had not seen anyone give a review on this topic and it helps me tremendously. I had been looking into this for about 2 years, but never gotten a request for it, so I did not proceed with making the purchase.
Recently started following you for live streaming info, good info all around on several topics and direct info with no BS! I appreciate the content you put out. Thx!
just found this video on your channel. I've been hired to dj at two events where these were being used. I think the person that was providing the service needed help with the setup, audio quality was not the best that night, not bad but not great. However, the system was brilliant. We did a silent beach party on Miami Beach where there's a sound ordinance, and not sound at all after 11:30p in some areas. We had three dj's on a small stage playing three different genres. guest were either dancing, or lounging or sitting with their feet in the water. best type of event I've thought about using these. Been trying to brainstorm on ways to use it, but they are a hard sell. I think for something like a beach party, at a museum or other place where "quiet" is the norm i think these are an easy sell. The system was simple. hardest part I find is handing them out and setting up a system to secure their return, in our case a drivers license was held until the headphone returned. I'm sure there are a million other ways to use these, they work well and bring a pretty cool factor that makes it easy to sell, but only for the right event.
Yo this Crazy! I've never heard of these silent headphones 🎧 till now. I've gotta check the price tag. Also I'd have to be booking a significant amount of these gig requests. Other wise Deal Breaker. Big Up Cleveland Terry 👍👍👍
Thanks Terry I'm in Virginia and I a dj at a silent party in 2019 every since then been getting calls about do we do silent party, well my company have decided to start off with 56 of them thanks for the information Dj serenity 757.
Great Video! I love everything about this, quick question, Is there a way to connect different brand heaphones into one transimtter, im thinking of buying over 500 headphones but i got the best deals off of 200 pairs from Sound OFF, Hush Silent Party and I also purchased 100 from Quiet Events. I wass wondering if I could sync them all together using a transmitter
Thank you so much for the review, it’s starting to be a buzz over here in the UK and strongly thinking about adding this to our services 👊🏾👌🏾👍🏾 also if it’s 3 channels would you recommend having 3 DJs?
Nice option to widen your brand and its services...thanks for explaining the tech. Keeping my eye on this especially in these times where our business has changed. Hope you would take a look at and review zoom parties. Figured with our current this also would be fitting to perform parties and keep social d ...
Tried to watch your Saturday night freestyle but it was blocked and comments turned off. Been promoting you and your idea of a subscription to Facebook and other social media , especially now more than ever.
I've seen those once and it looks cool, but I don't see the demand in it at least not right now. I'm gonna do some research into these for sure because I can see how dope they could be and what one could do with them. But the liability is a little heavy front of mind right now. Would like to see you do a video on a party you do with them pre/post.
Great Review!!! How's the interaction between party guests when everyone has headphones 🎧 on? Seems good for anti-amplified situations, but not so good for the social aspect and those of us who like to feel the music.
Interaction with guest is awesome if you have really engaged DJs... me and the crew that i do silent parties with always make it somewhat of a contaest of who can get the most people on their channel for the longest.... It's fun
they're not a big hit in NYC like they are in LA. Mostly because in NYC dancing is a lifestyle and people want to experience loud music and be able to talk and interact with each other.
I went to raves called SilentDisco disco it was awesome and they used these headphones, u see people dancing differently so u change channels to see what they are listening to. You take off the headphones and it’s almost complete silence that’s why it’s called silent Disco duh
I've been to 2 silent parties. The first one had 2 DJs on 2 channels, and I'm not a huge fan of that because there is still only 1 dance floor. If half the crowd is listening to 1 channel, and the other half is on the other it's disruptive. The second one I went to was 1 channel and it was outdoor, and as you mentioned I figured it was a noise level thing. However I guess the headphones were cheap as they got static and lost connection not that far from the DJ booth, which is idd as the party was in Japan which is the mecca of technology.
I’ve done it plenty of times with 2 channels. I wouldn’t call it disruptive. It’s definitely different but it adds some fun to the party. And yes, there are cheap headphones out there.
I think the real question is what is the future of "silent disco" parties. I've DJ'd about five a year the past few years, but always just rented the gear (or was hired by the rental company). Way too much trouble to own a set.
I still don't understand, as a dj, how you can mix music because, without silent party, you can hear music coming out from the speakers and use headphones for mixing the next song. But in silent party you use only headphones, so how can I mix the two songs without using speakers?
How many Headphones can connect on 1 transmitter? I would like to have a setup with 50 headphones so I need to know how mnany transmitter work for...? Thank you.
@@ClevelandTerry if I Have one transmitter open on channel 1, I Can connect 50 headphones on it on the same channel 1? Its will my 1st experience with silent disco headphone, could you more explicite with your answer's please? Thank you so much.
@@ClevelandTerry I love the video brotha. I have some that I own and they're great. I've had mine for about a year and a half. However, all of the ones I've used have a delay when you use them. So I use the headphones from my controller or mixer to mix.
... OHHH i get now, if you have 3 channels on one device it's purpose it to separate that sound from the other 2 devices if you're planning to play 3 type of music. I was shopping around and saw 3 channels and i was like, how can you input 3 source into one RCA port. man, thank you
No latency issues, what you do in your software is exactly what is heard in the headphones. It's an RCA output, so unless you rig something else between the controller/mixer and the transmitter, it's direct sound.
Damn bro.. I have a hard time getting through Candlelighting., or grand entrances MC’n and DJ’n switching songs for each person... and you are DJ’n 2 party’s at the same gig.. 😆😆😂😂😂
Do you occasionally get static in a headphone channel from one transmitter trying to push a signal through to another channel if the transmitters are too close to each other or too close to the guest? The transmitter manual says the "transmitters should be 10 meters from the guests/headphones". I bought 50 ft. RCA cords so I can spread the transmitters out which seems to fix the problem. I always wondered if other Silent disco users had similar issues.
Hey Terry, nice review man...although, the technology...concept is called "silent disco" My company actually owns the trademark "Silent DJ" :) Any chance you could update your review to avoid confusion?
Ok,,I get the "use case" for this kind of system BUT if you're doing this kind of party outdoors and the people are screaming and shouting when "their song" comes on, you're still going to upset the neighbours!! Seems like like you're just changing out one kind of noise for another,,

Hey thanks for this review, much appreciated.. Do you have a link to the specific ones you bought?

Nope. They saw us cleaning them so they were super happy.
Cleveland Terry thanks for the info.

How do you hook up 3 DJ's to one transmitter ....or does each DJ has is on its own transmitter for his channel
One transmitter per dj

Sorry for the late/delayed response. I mean the interaction between guests (amongst each other), not between the DJ and Guests.
I will play the audio at a background solute, so if they socialize, take off headphone and have background music.
