- West Virginia head coach Neal Brown identifies critical errors, a couple of questionable calls and a lack of capitalizing on scoring chances as the differences in his team's loss to Iowa State
this team has too much talent to be 3-3 right now and it's very disappointing. ik we have a tough schedule but we should be a 5-1 team right now
None of these cowards ask him about Rocco Becht? Why wasn't he offered a scholarship? He was better than our QB. Nobody goes after Brown with tough questions. Sickening.

That Becht kid was a pretty good quarterback. He even wanted to play for WVU but he wasn’t good enough. lol
I like Becht but he has really good receivers. I doubt he’s any better than Greene

Coach Neal Brown and WVU was as successful as the Monongah and Number 9 Coal disasters rolled into one!
We just got outplayed by a really good team. I thought the coaching wasn’t the factor as much as player execution. It was good to see our defense make some adjustments and get some stops in the second half. It’s always hard to lose, but we competed against a good team tonight and came just short of being good enough to win.

The game was not nearly as close as the score indicated.
Neal isn't calling the defensive players, only offense and doing a poor job at that.
Player execution IS coaching too. These aren't pros.
Brown never makes second half adjustments and loses games.

Iowa State is just a wagon of a team. Nothing flashy, just solid everywhere.
I have lost hope too honestly. Garrett made poor decisions the safeties were clueless and the need to be disciplined has been absent. NEIL has knowledge full of sound and fury signifying nothing in terms of tangible results. I have pulled down my flying WV flag and will not watch another game nor spend any time/money supporting them until NEIL leaves the program

Not sure I’ve seen a head coach whine or complain more than this guy. Quick to blame others. Look in the mirror and do some self reflection. What could you and the staff do to put the players in a better position to succeed?

Cyclone Fan here. West Virginia played a good game. Had some bad plays here and there but overall I thought it was a very enjoyable game.

Can’t make Iowa State commit penalties. 🤣 Iowa State made the plays to win. WVU struggled to adjust to what Iowa State did. Good game overall. Best of luck the rest of the way.
@@kelseywhitlatch173 the no call on the intentional grounding was pretty wild and calling the holding in the endzone on the ball that was 40 feet over their head was pretty wild. That being said we didn't lose because of the calls... we lost because aiden garnes can't cover, our center couldn't snap, and Garrett had so many opportunities to make plays with his feet and didn't take off.
26 ran like a man possessed. Were those two calls in particular horrible? absolutely. Not the reason we lost the game though.
I love how some fans rationalize how bad brown is by saying it’s WV and we can’t compete with the big 12 and bigger markets… and then we get smoked by teams like IOWA STATE. I’m sure they don’t make those same excuses.
Complain about the penalties but most of them were at the end of the game where they really didn't matter and you got the TD anyway.
Its the Bill Stewart curse coming back to haunt us again. You dont treat a good person and coach like Stewart without consequences. We havent had a sound football program, since the O. Luck philosophy was shoved down our throat.

Brown didn't throw the interceptions. I have said this before, WV can not draw the good players. Recruiting is pathetic and coaching @ Troy isn't the same as being in power 5 conferences

The amount of people butt hurt about losing to #4,#11, and #22 “you know before they all won again.” Is truly unbelievable. They lost to team’s competing for national titles and people act like they lost to some nobody. The losses are now combined 18-0 but I guess cry a little harder. I’m going to go grab a glass I guess and catch those tears.

I understand what you're saying, and I do support Neal Brown. THe frustration isn't in that we lost, it's how we lost. Up 10 with 4 minutes to go against Pitt and blowing it is rough. We looked clueless out there last night. Threw 10 plays away to bad snaps, missing a 20 yard field goal, continued problems in the secondary while getting gashed up the middle. Penn State dominated us, and there's a talent gap there so i'm not trippin about that.
I think Neal has what it takes to be a premier college footballl coach, but part of that is being the ceo of a program. Our coordinators are bumpkins. Choosing Leslie over Addae for DC was a failure. Chad Scott is just happy to be there. We need chess players. If Neal can't get some football minds on his staff he's dooming himself. When we fired Vic, we should have retooled the entire defensive scheme instead of having the d line coach try to remember how it goes.
