As a 12 yr old girl I watched Richard Marx on Arsenic hall show n thought wow I cant believe this guy has a gifted voice.I was drawn n hooked to his music n voice n hes still favourite singer of mine n its been 33 yrs.If only he could have concert eastern Canada such as St Johns Newfoundland I would attend his concert for the 1st time.His music encouraged me at a low time in my life. His music lifted me up as a young lady who soon approach teen years.

Just saw him 3/26 in Greenville, TN. Venue seats about 2500. He played solo on the guitar and piano and sounds like he did in the 90s. Played his hits and a couple new songs. He's still outstanding.

I was born in ‘83 - a strange time for music. It what is now considered a last year for “Classic Rock”. .38 Special came in with a solid bookend to cap the era just before the Second British Invasion happened and New Era, if I’m using my genres correctly. Bryan Adams was becoming a name, Phil Colins solo work was making a huge impact. Countless artists were finding an audience through the mid 80’s and making a statement. Along comes Richard Marx from Chicago - influence by everyone from Brit Rock, Motown and yes, Folk Rock. Armed with a massive voice - he wrote from the heart and carved albeit a brief window, it nevertheless made a massive impression on the charts and hearts ;) of millions of listeners. We still have a place in our music souls for this amazing talent. Happy to be alive at the same time as him.
