      Could use another pandemic, too. It's basically the biggest reason why they blew up after YEARS of content. You can mark their decline directly at the end of the pandemic.
      People wanted to get out of the house. They wanted nostalgia from their teenage years. All the emotions that came with the pandi were easily quelled by their videos, but only for so long.

    @bishopadvisorygroup656 5 місяців тому +2

    Aaron, I don’t know if you’ll read this, but your channel has transformed my life. During COVID, I spent a lot of time on UA-cam. I happened across some videos from Josh Neuman that inspired me to get back on a board after more than 30 years. I began lonboarding and continue to ride every day the weather permits. Growing up in the 70s, skateboarding was nothing like it is today. Many skateboards were homemade using metal wheels from strap-on roller skates (remember skate keys?). I had a skateboard that was made of plastic, purchased from a toy store. Today, I have a longboard and skateboard. While similarity may exist between the two, they are vastly different. Your channel led me to go beyond the longboard and start riding a skateboard. I’m still working on basic tricks, but I’m getting there. Thank you for the instructional and encouraging videos. Keep up the great work and know you are making a difference in people’s lives.

    I'm glad you recognise the issues and are taking steps to correct them.
    Personally I'd like to see better reviews of things. I remember the landyachtz video but no pros and cons were ever discussed, no comparisons to the other boards or regular boards.
    The same goes for most different types of boards you get. Rarely do you guys try new styles of skating or use them for their intended purpose. It's always just kickflipping and down the stairs til it breaks, which is also fun and should be included but I'd love to see you guys get out of your comfort zone and use a longboard/all terrain/cruiser/downhill/whatever properly. Maybe even taking a lesson from someone with the appropriate skillset.
    Maybe an interview series with some other awesome skaters too.

      I don't think I'd like to watch serious reviews from a channel that mostly gets their stuff for free to make a video on. (This isn't a dig!) Just getting the stuff and making a funny video using it is enough for me. Sure I'd love to see SOME pros and cons inserted into that but I wouldn't watch Braille vids to help make a purchase decision.

    Random video idea input from a non skateboarding fan... for what it's worth. I love watching videos on the science of things like smartereveryday, stuff made here, mark rober. with basic explanations of cool concepts. your channel has been fun for me to watch the science of skateboarding. what is the strength of glass for a skateboard or how strong is a 3d printed part or even doing the braille drop and who can withstand big impacts or how high can someone go on a vert wall. so i tend to click on things that would be facinating physics concepts in my mind. perhaps things like what is the strongest or fastest bearings, the board to give the highest ollie, best dimension for flip or rotation tricks, physics benefits of different trucks, optimal weight distribution for dropping in for speed or balance. just giving some random thoughts that came up as I listened to you talk about educating people and the direction of the channel of what would be facinating to me. cheers man im definitely excited to watch some tutorials and see the physics that apply to the tricks to make the board move.

And even it takes 5 videos, I think that those are the ones that I resonate with. I also love watching beginners learn new tricks and doing things that they've never done and didn't think they could. Love you guys and I hope the best for Braille! ❤I've been watching off and on since 2016 and this channel was a big push in getting mine going (I started dabbling in similar content). If you ever wanna try something weird I've always wanted to experiment with skateboarding in a VR/Mixed reality environment. Wearing a VR headset with passthrough and jumping over or avoiding virtual objects, or skateboarding on real ramps and rails but in VRChat etc. Honestly this is just an excuse to skate your epic park I've always wanted to hahah but it could be a fun and different experiment!
    Much love and best of luck to you and your team I can't wait to see what comes out next!

    A couple things.
    1. If the crew is starting to shrink you could bring some life back to the videos by primarily doing things outside of the braille house. Right now with a smaller crew the braille house kind of feels empty and a little sad because it’s a shell of what it use to be. You could even just set up ramps and ledges in the parking lot or you could go out and skate street and give tutorials on how to skate street and find spots.
    2. In general I know Braille is primarily about teaching skating but I think the biggest draw it used to have was allowing people to feel like they were a part of the friend group. Lately it’s felt formulaic and lost that sense of togetherness for the sake of ensuring content. I think people just enjoy coming along for the ride if it feels authentic. That’s a major reason why people like to skate together anyway.

    I am a 48 yr old that started skating in the late 80s to early 2000. I never wanted to be pro but enjoyed the emotion and what the core of skating is. Fun. I started watching Braille in late 2019 and something about you and the vibes that you had just enjoying what skating had to offer hit home. Started watching other channels but Braille and the Powell team has lit a fire in me. A month ago I got a new complete and started at it again. Just want to say thank you for giving this old guy a look at his past and looking forward to landing a few tricks!! Like anything in life, if there is joy and passion behind it, you can't fail.
