How do you know that? They really have no infrastructure to be counting dead in Gaza. They could both be wrong even so 40k is a really low number for a modern urban war

Why the clickbate title? Why not just say unverified?
It’s not a Clickbait headline. They’re basically admitting that they know the numbers are at least half of what they thought they were, but they can’t be sure what they are because the only numbers they’re getting literally coming from Hamas. Why would anybody trust those numbers. A question many of us have been asking from the beginning. There’s really not much information coming out out of that area that doesn’t come from Hamas.

This is totally incorrect. UN did not revise the number of casualties downward. It only said that it had IDENTIFIED the people who were killed in only about half the deaths. The total numbers of women and children and others who were killed has not changed. Many remain unidentified either because they are too disfigured or decomposed or no family members are alive to make an identification.
It is very irresponsible for this channel to misrepresent the facts in this way, and extremely poor journalism!
