Closed Setting Diamond Jewellery: Tamilnadu Edition: Jewels of India

Closed setting diamond jewellery is unique to Tamilnadu. The technique adds lustre and longevity to diamonds and gems.
Jewels of India was founded and anchored by journalist, Shoba Narayan. It celebrates and showcases the jewellery traditions of India. The project is supported by Tanishq: a TATA company. We are grateful for their support.

In India, karigars or acharis (goldsmiths) often work with their intuition, imagination and knowledge to craft amazing pieces of jewellery for pretty much every occasion or every part of the body. Jewels of India is a humble attempt to give these craftspeople some recognition.
