I recognize the background as the ship passed as being the massive concrete submarine shelters that the Germans built during World War 2. Have the structures been put to any kind of peaceful uses recently ?
In La Rochelle the U-bunker is abandoned. It served after the war but now it is no longer useful. A few years ago it served as a natural setting for the filming of the Das Boot series. In Saint Nazaire I believe it is used for shipyards like in Lorient.
I am inspired to ask: Would anybody here in the USA consider building a famous ship that took part in the early days of my country for the same purpose as L' Hermione, perhaps the USS Enterprise ? I don't mean the present Aircraft Carrier still under construction. I mean the age of sail tall ship that was part of the early United States Navy.
