Historic Site is a village and historic site in southern Tasmania, Australia. Sitting on the Tasman Peninsula, it was a 19th-century penal settlement and is now an open-air museum. Ruins include the huge penitentiary and the remaining shell of the Convict Church.
The site is a beautiful place with rich Australian history value and is an icon of Tasmania.
It is about 1 hour and 30 minutes drive from Hobart. Tickets are $47 for adults, $22 for children over 7, and free for children under 7. There are complementary ferry trips included in the ticket. It is a nice cruise around the island for about 15 minutes with great views.
There are some interactive games after getting through the entrance.
