The accuracy of your descriptions of Methadone withdrawal is spot on. I've had to do it twice. Once in jail and once in the free world. Both time were extremely traumatic but being in jail adds a whole new level of stress to the process.
Yes I would recommend taking gaba agonists like gabapentin and benzos. If that is too much for you I suggest getting some good quality Kratom a heavy red strain like red vein bali or indo I know a great vendor they got it for the low too. I was on 210 mg of Methadone and I was tapered off in ten days with nothing to help cold turkey but I don't recommend doing that come down as slow as possible and get yourself some Kratom and benzos before you get down to 20 mg. I was having acute withdrawal for about 4 months but it got better little by little everyday. After that I felt the after effects for about a year but if you can I would suggest getting off of it.
I found kicking heroin was easier in jail, but kicking methadone is equally as shitty on a yacht or in a cell. Not having access to heroin in jail made me just accept it I guess.
I’m going through relationship problems and these videos help me SO much. Especially as someone in recovery (on Suboxone so not sober) who understands.

Another great video, you're right about methadone withdrawal almost being a spiritual experience. You have to confront extreme despair that could be somewhat similar to something called the dark night of the soul, a stage in the process of meditative practice.

@@criticalmass6249 It is really highly individual, but normally it follows intense dedication to a meditative practice. Realisations will come about due to your practice and it's almost as if you can't accept these newfound realisations or they're a little hard to swallow, you may question everything about your practice and give it up due to desperation, depression or just general malaise. But you've crossed a threshold and can't go back, or at least nothing will be the same unless you just keep pushing ahead integrate everything and continue with your practice. This is where the phrase " ignorance is bliss " applies perfectly, you may wish to have never started your meditative practice in the first place. That's the best I can do as I'm no guru or psychiatrist, I have been through it and felt like I was going mad. I had my own online business at the time so I could spend all day everyday dealing with it, plus I have a theravadin Buddhist monastery nearby so I wasn't alone. I'd suggest looking into it further as it will be all over UA-cam, my description may not reflect what you're going through. I wish you all the best and hope you can get through whatever you're dealing with.

Man, u r by far, the Realist, Most Honest, UA-camr in the whole game. Years back, I've cold turkeyed methadone inside and outside, from 140mg to zero, and once did rapid control detox down to 15mg to zero... When inside, methadone withdraw doesn't care what MG, it's the zero that hurts. Almost no worse spot to be, kicking that particular chemical, in that environment, it's hell. You are a strong and brave person to air this, and not only do I respect you to the fullest (especially because you are one of the very few that still abide by the no snitch policy, such as myself, which we're the minority by far now), but I'll share this to everyone I know, I'm going to Amazon now to buy book, and I'll follow you for now on. You just earned another brother.

You say Kratom kicking is a breeze but have you actually done it? I kicked suboxone and dope cold Turkey and it was hell for months. But started doing Kratom 2yrs ago daily and went a day without it once for shits and giggles and it wasn't anything nice.
I can relate soo much. Methodone is Hell on EARTH!! I remember the Nurse calling me after about 2 weeks of kicking. I remember telling the Guard, "Do I have too go , I cant get up I wont be able to make it ,I cant walk.." I went thru a spiritual change, Let's just say that!! 🤦♀️

I’ve never been in your exact position but I’ve endured some serious serious cold turkey detoxes. I’m a lot like you, just born in 88.. and I grew up in a tiny rich suburb just outside midtown Manhattan, NYC... lots of money- no wisdom or experience + young male bravado and testosterone + full blown drug addict.. you can imagine I found myself in some trouble myself. Just keeping it real, never on your level. Your story is / was my worst nightmare. And makes me so thankful I left that illegal lifestyle behind. I don’t miss the lows the from the insane highs. Not at all.y
I still rewatch These episodes...I kicked 280 mgs of methadone locked up..7 months of hell... I'm clean now on suboxone ... 100× better then methadone it doesn't wear off halfway through the day like methadone does...rip ryan*

Oh yeah, I remember that, I kicked methadone at a rehab that only gave me clonidine, phenobarb and ativan. It sucked bad, but it was one of the last times I kicked hard, so I got something out of it. Everything you said is 100% true. I just ordered your book, gets here in a few days, great stories.

I hallucinated after about 19 days give or take with little to no sleep when I did eventually fall asleep I was leaning against the wall got 30 mins best nap ever lol.
I had a grand maul seizure just as i was stepping from a pier to my buddies pontoon boat..fell right between the 2 and somehow my buddy saw me from the house- That was day 33 with NO SLEEP coming off subs in 2006- not 1 fucking minute- even got iv valium at the hospital and was still wide awake- I wouldnt wish that shit on anyone

Nick Fasarakis melatonin and Xanax just don’t over do it on the Xanax because methadone and benzos is a deadly combo. Use it just to sleep.

I cannot believe that the prison allowed Ryan to go cold. Going cold off of anything is a very high risk for death, not to mention the suffering.

You say Kratom kicking is a breeze but have you actually done it? I kicked suboxone and dope cold Turkey and it was hell for months. But started doing Kratom 2yrs ago daily and went a day without it once for shits and giggles and it wasn't anything nice.

I can relate soo much. Methodone is Hell on EARTH!! I remember the Nurse calling me after about 2 weeks of kicking. I remember telling the Guard, "Do I have too go , I cant get up I wont be able to make it ,I cant walk.." I went thru a spiritual change, Let's just say that!! 🤦♀️

I’ve never been in your exact position but I’ve endured some serious serious cold turkey detoxes. I’m a lot like you, just born in 88.. and I grew up in a tiny rich suburb just outside midtown Manhattan, NYC... lots of money- no wisdom or experience + young male bravado and testosterone + full blown drug addict.. you can imagine I found myself in some trouble myself.
Just keeping it real, never on your level.

Oh yeah, I remember that, I kicked methadone at a rehab that only gave me clonidine, phenobarb and ativan. It sucked bad, but it was one of the last times I kicked hard, so I got something out of it. Everything you said is 100% true. I just ordered your book, gets here in a few days, great stories.

I hallucinated after about 19 days give or take with little to no sleep when I did eventually fall asleep I was leaning against the wall got 30 mins best nap ever lol.
I had a grand maul seizure just as i was stepping from a pier to my buddies pontoon boat..fell right between the 2 and somehow my buddy saw me from the house-
That was day 33 with NO SLEEP coming off subs in 2006- not 1 fucking minute- even got iv valium at the hospital and was still wide awake-
I wouldnt wish that shit on anyone
