be careful not to reveal too much about yourself or the interet might find out where you live and send you a swat team or whatever they tend to do! already gave quite a lot of info in this video (being in a house and so on)
I read the title like I was gonna learn how to reverse my self-hatred with some kind of verbal method. Still depressed, but with the knowledge of how to record sick vocals.
I think youtube is confused on me too on this one XDDD Recovering from some relationship shenanigans and interested in all sorts of mindset improvement content but this guy also popped up in my recommendations a week or two ago. I'm not complaining XD
@hclyrics from one depressed anxious person to another here are some ✨mental health tips✨ - try to avoid apologizing unnecessarily. If applicable, replace your apology with an expression of gratitude (eg, instead of "sorry for talking so much" try something like "thanks for listening to me" - try not to kneecap your sentences too much (ie, instead of "I know it sounds weird but I just really like X", just say "I really like X". You don't need to be apologetic for your existence or your personal tastes my friend) - try and give other people more compliments. If you appreciate something about your friend, let them know. Leave positive comments on social media. Recently, I've started leaving more nice comments on videos I like (especially if they don't have a lot of views) and even just doing that has made me feel a bit more confident in myself and like I'm putting myself out there a bit This will not fix all your problems obviously but hopefully it might help some people out 😎✨
I read the title like I was gonna learn how to speedrun voice training in 2 minutes 11 seconds. I knew it was too good to be true, but I was still kinda hoping.
Going through the process of learning to record entire songs with my voice rn and I can't stress enough how quickly you get accustomed to hearing yourself, no matter how unimaginable it might seem or how bad you might be, and the possibilities it opens. You can ease yourself into it by just recording some noises first, then go into syllables and words at your own pace. Same goes for filming yourself.
yes! been making beats for 20 years and just started singing/songwriting recently. everything feels new and fresh again it’s tapping into such a different aspect of music and I’m surprising myself at what I’m capable of despite not being anywhere near a natural vocalist
@@squirrelhallowino29 Couldn't tell ya either unfortunately, but for me it was the fact that my voice was too weak/low energy from having been too introverted and almost no exercise I was doing adressed that. Found this guy Phil Moufarrege and concluded from his videos that what I need is to find where my voice breaks, find songs just below those notes and "speak" the lyrics very loud and clear to build strength and good tone first. Having a DAW comes in handy here since you can slow down songs and change the pitch. Then just learn to properly yell every vowel around those notes. That helpted noticably with strength, tone and range
@@squirrelhallowino29 are you using any kind of pitch correction (“auto tune”) on your voice? that helps. there’s also latency on my vocals which I have to correct every time I record. once the timing is lined back up it sounds a lot better too
Man. I wish I had found this video before my dad passed away in 2020. He taught me how to play guitar, and tried to teach me how to sing. I could never master it, and frankly, I didn't think he could either. We just don't have the voice for it. But utilizing these techniques, shit, maybe things could have been different. He would have *loved* this stuff. God, the music we could have made. I know I made him proud with my guitar skills (and later bass skills), but he was always disappointed at my reluctance to sing, and I dunno, maybe this would have brought me out of my shell and I could have made him proud with my voice too. Thanks for the lesson Synthet. I'm going to implement these techniques in my next song and see where it takes me. You've given me the confidence to try singing again.
I believe anyone can sing. They just have to find their right voice for it. Obviously everyone won’t sing the same, and especially not in the same range, but that’s the most important thing, finding the keys you can actually sing comfortably in. Even if you have the smallest range in the world, you can sing just fine staying within that range
I really like this video because you’re teaching people to make the most of what they have to work with. I also like the fact that you’re trying to teach people how to make music and not trying just to sell something you’re recommending it because it’s good.
tbh melodyne is a whole other beast. As a singer I really hate how it sounds most of the time, it has to be applied by someone who rly knows what they're doing
@@luckas221a I tried it, and honestly I get the best results when I combine the macro on lower settings (at most 50%) and then just comb through and only adjust specifically the lines that are actually problematic. It starts sounding off when you make everything perfect. Imo.
I wish I saw this a year ago. I completely agree. I like singing, and think I have decent voice, but on playback I hate how it sounds. And it can't be fixed with just autotune and effects. I found the best result, after doing tiny changes, to many things. Layering is huge, cutting up the vocals so they match perfectly is good for making it sound like one good recording. Or purposely mess up the timings as an effect. I do very slight auto tune to the point where you can't hear it, but see it on the waveforms. But it makes a big difference in the end because I do it on all layers.
