  • I spent two nights in Gitega and my days were very enlightening and delightful. On my list of things to do were
    1. National Museum of Gitega
    2. Gishora Drummers Sanctuary
    3. Agasumo ka Mwaro
    4.Local Market
    5. Walking around town.
Personally I enjoy the walk around cities, towns or villages as you unintentionally discover things like the hotel I ended up staying at in Gitega. The city itself is clean and the people are friendly. With these activities its a perfect add on for your trip to Burundi
    Thanks for watching

If you went to Burundi; I recommend you to visit the city of Bjumbura. Getting to the capital Gitegaya can be a bit difficult. Conditions can be challenging given the country's oil shortage. But the city of Bjumbura is very beautiful and more developed than other cities. You should especially watch Lake Tanganyika. There is a wonderful restaurant by the lake. There is also an airport in this city. Thanks for the broadcast. Love and greetings from Turkey...! 🇹🇷 ❤️ 🇧🇮

I enjoyed your video. When I was growing up in the 1950/1960s in Commune Gitaramuka (Province Karuzi), next to my grandpa land, we had about 10 families belonging to the Abatimbo clan (who were the only ones allowed to play the royal drums). As kids we could watch them practice but we were not allowed to touch the drums. At some special occasions, they were leaving our hill with the drums on their heads, but I don't know whether there was a vehicle waiting somewhere to take them to Gitega.
But in secondary schools, drummer groups could be formed and anybody could join. So today's drummers aren't necessarily from the Abatimbo clan.
