Part 1 of 4: Nitrogen-use-efficient maize - a how-to for low-fertility soils

This four-part series of training videos targets breeders, technicians and students in maize research. Proceeding step by step, they jointly cover how to best manage low-nitrogen trials for nitrogen-use-efficient (NUE) maize. The three topics covered are site development, managing low-nitrogen trials and data collection. NUE maize helps to counter low-fertility soils for Africa’s maize production by developing improved maize varieties that respond better to small amounts of fertilizers (bit.ly/1NSddFx). The videos were produced by CIMMYT’s Improved Maize for African Soils Project (bit.ly/1IeGveR) jointly funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and United States Agency for International Development.
