Freddie wrote Barcelona (album) for Caballe. They had a deep affection and respect for each other.
They are both in heaven now.
R.I.P Freddie ❤R.I.P Montsy. ❤
Freddie Mercury was so much more than a rock singer, he was a brilliant musician, an excellent singer, songwriter, storyteller. He had an eclectic musical taste and the range to sing operatic songs. Montserrat Caballé was one of the most famous opera divas of the last century, she was famous for her very high soft notes. Freddie and Montserrat became good friends very quickly, they adored each other and Montserrat was brave enough to take the risk to sing with a rock star, because she recognized the Musician in Freddie instantly. Freddie and his friend Mike Moran completed a full album with beautiful melodies for this golden duo.
Freddie's opera is breathtaking ❤❤❤❤
Freddie was always in love in opera and theatre. Also he falls in love in Montys voice. The two of them sound angelic together. He was never nervous when he had to go on stage but with Monty he was so nervous that he didn't want to sing live. This song was on Olympic games in Barcelona in 1992 but Freddie wasn't with us anymore. Thank you for reacting to this perfection. The whole album is amazing and wonderful.
This is my favourite solo from Freddy I always seem to cry listening to this! This was for Barcelona 1992 Olympics…Thank you for your reaction ❤❤❤❤
Solo?
@@personalcheeses8073 yeah Freddie Mercury did solo work away from Queen!
Freddie loved her singing from the first time he heard her. She loved collaborating with him. Great reaction. 😁👍🏾
How can I go on & goldenboy also by these two!!! Freddie wrote them all!!🎼❤️🎼🇬🇧
It wasn't a widely well-accepted collaboration, from the Operatic community or the rock n' roll, pop communities either. But it became truly highly regarded by both. Listen to them sing "How Can I Go On", also . . .on the Barcelona album, also "The Fallen Priest". It's opera even I understand and cherish.. I join with many Freddie and Queen fans who feel Freddie found his collaboration with the heralded Opera Diva a most wonderful answer to his dream of making it happen. Which make me tearfully thrilled for Freddie!
I think Freddie got a kick out of thinking who among his contemporaries would hake the chance. Zip. For Montserrat, it was forever a deeply enriching experience and her bond with Freddie was till her dying day.
Guide me home is also sooooo great! Play that one!
This song always makes me cry, it’s so beautiful ❤
Love these two wonderful friends 🥰 RIP Freddie and Montsy 😊😘💛
This song was written to sing at the opening of the Barcelona Olympics. He loved Monseratt and she heard he liked her voice and she said she was interested in singing with him.
The song reflects Mercury's love of opera with his high notes and Caballé's operatic vocals, backed by a full orchestra. Originally released in 1987, it was one of the biggest hits of Mercury's solo career, reaching number eight in the UK Singles Chart. After Mercury's death in 1991, it was featured at the 1992 Summer Olympics, after which the track climbed even higher, peaking at number two in the UK, the Netherlands and New Zealand.
Beautiful. They were great together. They actually recorded an album together. It was the first time a Rock and Roll star collaborated with an opera singer.
PLEASE REACT TO Freddie Mercury In My Defense. He hits every note on the scale in that one
It was written for 1992 Olympic 😊
Ouff, I felt everything I saw on your face! ❤ bless you for sharing.
Freddie is a legend! Moncerete, so incredible! Beautiful joining of two amazing people! ❤❤❤
This performance blows my hair back every time I hear it. What magic these two created together. Thank you for your reaction.
Freddie, performing live, is the best.
Freddie and Montserrat had a mutual admiration between artists and a beautiful friendship. I saw a video of her with his parents at his memorial in Switzerland and I have to admit, I cried.
I dare u to try How can I go on! U will be Freddie fan for life!!!
So glad you found this collaboration! they were so "in love" - she was an amazing and top-rated Spanish opera singer.. and they found each other... they did so much more together... hope you listen to more...
one by one only the good die young. Brians song in memory of Freddie, also Brian singing Too much love can kill you.
HOW CAN I GO ON is so beautiful
So beautiful, one of my favorites.❤
I saw and heard HER performing live ... no mic needed! Incredible voice! ♥ She was a really amazing, nice person to meet! We had a lot of fun ... great person! I miss her! ♥
Thanks for reacting to her - and to Fred, of course! :)
magic
Gives me chills every time!
Beautiful and a privilege to watch, real artists. Thanks for your reaction you were obviously impressed.
Try Green Day Concert, whole audience sings a real tribute to Freddie and Queen.
it's hard to say "this is my favorite freddy song".but i say it:- this one is!!
As others have said they had a great admiration for each other, Freddie reached out to Monserrat to collaborate on an album, bur he did not think she would reply because he did not think he would be good enough to sing with her, when she received the request her response was what does this great rock legend want with a fat old opera singer like me, once they were together they both discussed how they were great admirers of each other and not only was a great album born but a strong friendship that lasted until Freddie died, RIP to 2 beautiful souls in Freddie and Monserrat
So many people say it reminds them of a Disney movie .
Exactly , it was a marriage between two legends .
They were very close friends. They loved each other immensely.
Now do EXERCISES IN FREE LOVE. Freddie’s real opera voice💕PS great reaction.
Told you he could sing opera. Another great song from this album is How Can I Go On. It’s magnificent.
very insightful reaction
Anything Queen! You can’t miss!😊
Wonderful reaction, full of good insight. Lovely to meet you.😊
This one always gives me goose bumps, I love Freddie mercury and queen and I love your reactions,I know you got goose bumps too. ❤💖💕
It is funny that you mention "The sleeping Beauty" - because Freddie loved the ballet - as well as the opera. He also performed with the Royal Ballet - and it also shows in his costumes and his way of moving. I think they only did it live once - Freddie was too ill (AIDS) to sing live - -. It was used at the Barcelona Olympics - but taped - as Freddie had died.
Forever singing beautiful songs ♥️
Just subscribed after watching your reaction to this..This performance was perfection 💯 sending you love from London❤ 🇬🇧
Listen to Golden Boy it's rock opera and soul. God bless these two souls that they left us with this music.
Leaving a link to a specific song is a smart idea.
This one is amazing. 2 great talents who became great friends. This is Freddie’s love letter to Montsy.
The Barcelona album is a collection of duets with Freddie & Montserrat! Freddie wrote the music & most of the lyrics except for two songs called THE GOLDEN BOY & THE FALLEN PRIEST. Sir Tim Rice wrote the lyrics for those two songs because, and I quote: “Freddie ran out of lyrics.” - (Sir Tim Rice, famous lyricist).
I HOPE I REACTED TO THE RIGHT VIDEO. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!!. ANY OTHER SONGS TO REACT TO? JUST REPLY TO THIS COMMENT
You surely love "The show must go on" (official video, Freddie has never sing these song on stage)
Freddie record it, he was very ill and knew he was passing, he died six weeks later.
Excuse my bad english but I am a french girl.
lol we both speak bad english, I understand you fine lol
Beautiful video and performance. Sadly Freddie didn’t make it to see the ‘92 Olympics in Barcelona. He adored Montsy and she adored him ❤
@@theneverenderreacts Thanks. You reassure me. 😉
another collaboration is the great tenor Luciano Pavarotti - who have collaborated with Montserra Caballé in several operas - listen to the version of "Panis Angelicus" where he sings with Sting.. He has also performed with Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen.
Love your reaction !!!😊
You should listen to his 'Exercises in Free Love' which shows his opera skill.
I do enjoy your channel and your reactions to my Freddie Mercury
I agree... there was a Disney background ❤
This was for Barcelona Olimpic Games 1992 !! lamentablemente Freddie falleció en 1991!!
If you love this you should listen to the song that Freddie wrote for Montsserat named excercises in free love
