Finnish Short Track Championship 2020 ► Afghan Hounds

The video is a documentary about a track racing competition in accordance with the rules of the Finnish Sighthound Association under supervision of The Finnish Kennel Club and FCI. Throughout the race, the specialised vets will ensure that the dogs are safe to race and check the condition of the dogs before running and after the race, if needed. The dogs chase the artificial lure. Dogs are inspired by their natural drive to hunt and are not forced to run. If there is no such drive, then the dog will not be entered. The dogs are wearing strong wire muzzles throughout the run so they cannot hurt each other in any situation.
Video on dokumentti eläinlääkärin valvonnassa suoritetusta Suomen Vinttikoiraliiton sääntöjen mukaisesta ratajuoksukilpailusta. Suomen Vinttikoiraliitto toimii Suomen Kennelliiton ja FCI:n alaisuudessa. Eläinlääkäri valvoo koko kilpailun ajan että koirien kilpailuttaminen on turvallista, ja tarkistaa koirien kunnon ennen juoksusuoritusta ja tarvittaessa myös juoksun jälkeen. Koirat juoksevat muovipussin perässä. Koiria innoittaa juoksusuoritukseen niiden luontainen synnynnäinen ajovietti, eikä niitä pakoteta juoksemaan. Jos tuota viettiä ei ole, koiraa ei tuoda kilpailuun. Koirilla on kuonokopat koko juoksusuorituksen ajan jotta ne eivät vahingoittaisi toisiaan missään tilanteessa.
