Hmm, if you are referring to Boxcutter, yes that's an add-on. I use it all the time for booleans. Is there a moment/timecode in the video that you're referring to specifically?
@@red_craft Ah yes, this is the Boxcutter add-on. It's a quick help menu activated with the D key. It lets you pick which kind of mesh will serve as the boolean object, as well as some other settings.

it's a pity that the addon "Substance 3D" is only for Blender versions 2.90 thru 2.93 and not for Blender 3.0.... :-(
I've been using it with 3.0 and it works fairly well. I used 3.0 in this video.
