Every time a new product is presented to you, do you get mad? For instance, when Apple introduces a new iPhone, you have to wait two weeks before you can get your hands on it, and the same goes for any Android phone or 99% of any products that ever come out - at first they are showcased, and only after some time do you get your hands on them. Do you think OpenAI should completely stop showcasing their upcoming products and only release them when they’re ready, because, in your opinion, it hurts them somehow? Why do you think it hurts any company to present their upcoming products? I am just curious what goes behind that thinking because everyone seems mad when OpenAI makes progress and showcases their future stuff. Are people just impatient to get their hands on or what?
@artem8193 in your other examples, influencers get their hands on those products. They get to showcase the products and thus the public has an idea beyond the hype presented by companies. Also, those are consumer products, I don't complain about the wait because it doesn't affect my business. In this particular case with OpenAI, I plan what AI apps to develop as soon as I have access to new models to be competitive. If Google places their model in my hands now, I can proceed with evaluating and invest in developing my apps around its capabilities. Now, I wonder, should I wait, will o3 be as good as they say, will my customers want to wait, will they buy my Gemini based product or not. Will o3 make my product obsolete.
I have been surprised that this hasn’t rolled out to o1 yet in ChatGPT. I would imagine this is something we see early next year if I were to bet on it
It’s going to be very interesting to try early next year especially for coding tasks. Do you mean their PR related to their naming of the model or something else?
O2 wasnt an option as its already a legal name, easy to overlook until you go to actually register something. Just hope they dont prioritise Crapple with its desktop capabilities, and that it has web search (even better, MCP).
OpenAI was so freaked out by Google that they skipped o2 and went straight to o3 😂😂
😂
This is so wrong. They have all these planned out already. And always appreciate others efforts.
😂😂

"O2" may be a registered trademark of Telefonica, a mobile provider.
We launched this new model. But it's not available 😮

The golden question here is , will O3 have the absolutely essential Web Search function that only GPT-4o has now ? Otherwise it’s semi-useless…

Thanks for doing this! Pretty awesome to see Greg in there!
Np! - I was stoked to see Greg there as well 🙂
Pretty impressive especially on those closed benchmarks. They need to work on their PR though...

"maybe not" 💀
Hey google annouce anothet model plz .. bury the o3 "agi" 😂
O7 to CS majors
AGI… A Google Investment? Open AI has to win this… I am worn out by the hype.
Where is o2?
It might have fell off Santa’s sleigh 🛷 🤭
But it was to not infringe on Telefonica’s O2 naming patent

@@DevelopersDigest very informative, i didn't expect that , i thought they were just bad with the naming.
In the air 😂
