"I don't want to talk about every single pen because this video would be like 2 hours long" *me, using this for body doubling* I don't see the problem there 😛
Impressive collection Mark. Thanks for sharing it with us. I keep my clean pens in a binder...keeping no more than 5 in my rotation. I have 20. I'm beating myself up because I wish I'd been collecting in my 30s. Can you imagine the beauties/antiques, I'd could boast about. I'm heading to my first pen show, the Chicago Pen Show, in late April/early May with $1,000 in my pocket. I plan to get 2 to 3 pens and some inks. I hope this is a good show for me to attend. At 75, it may be my first and last.
I'm enjoying watching you go through your pen collection. I'm a fine artist and paper crafter, so I do appreciate well-made tools and quality supplies. Fortunately, I'm not drawn to collecting pens or I think I'd go broke. But I think it's great to collect them. I spend enough as it is on pricey watercolors, oils, pastels, brushes and a variety of other color media, paper, canvases and all the related products you can imagine. Stems like there's always something tempting to buy. Thanks for sharing your collection!
Thanks for your note and also for checking out the video. The crafting / art world is always looking to reel us into some new product and hobby. So many great creators too making their own products.
Great collection! That Hello Tello is so gorgeous... I think they may be my next FP treat. One little thing - you only have 2 Esterbrook Esties - the one with the silver cap band and moon-shaped nib cutout is a Conklin Misto (one of my favourites). Thanks for sharing your collection!
Wow! A fabulous collection, Mark. I have about thirty: after a passion for Waterman and Cross, I am now into Twsbi. I just purchased the new sky blue one - along with a bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku Sky Blue. I love a bit of co-ordination. 😂💙
I liked seeing your pen collection as well as your comments about why you liked them or not - thank you. I see we both have an affinity for teal/blue! Hello, gadgety magnetic cap! Why are you not in my life?? The "StormTrooper" Vanishing Point comment made me LOL. I'm still a fountain pen noob so I'm not ready for that *yet*...but if it came in R2D2 blue and white I would not be able to resist 😍 I love it. I'm not saying it's your fault that I'm slowing falling down the fountain pen/ink rabbit hole, but....your enthusiasm & videos about them are a contributing factor. 😂(and the Atlas Stationers Pen Day Sale is not helping! 🤣) BTW, I picked up my first Lamy today - so smooth!
I’m a sucker for green and blues. Teal is easily becoming a favorite color of mine. And an R2D2 pen is a must have in the near future. That would be so cool! Love that you are loving your Lamy!!
Wow, what a collection! My first fountain pen was from Pelikan in my childhood and then Lamy. I also have several fountain pens but they are rather on the afordable side. My most expensive one is maybe 100-120€
You don’t mention your Archer and Olive pens. I would love to hear what you think of their pens and inks. Are you planning to get the new pen and/or ink? How do the A&O pens and inks compare to some of your favorites.
Ooopsie. Haha. Honestly I think they are pretty basic. I don’t mean that in a bad way - just nothing really amazing about them. The ink colors are great. I really love them.
Ooofp, that would take a really long time. However, I can add one in my content planner for how the different sizes work. That would be more manageable.
@markyourpages I’m being entirely selfish here.. but maybe by mark function? For example: Writing, calligraphy, sketching, graphic design, bu-jo, etc? Maybe a ‘your top 10’ for each?
I just discovered this channel and its awesome ! Bench watching the channel soon. I have a question to youtube viewers in general. I feel ppl are talking so so fast, and i cant keep up with everything that has been said. I was wondering if others have this too ? I slow down videos just because of this 😮.
Thanks for watching the video. I try to find a balance in my rate of speech, but sometimes talk a bit faster if there is alot to cover. But that’s just me.
@@markyourpages Even being an EF nib, the stroke is too thick for my taste, and has a serious problem with how quickly the inks dry on their pens, it does not matter if it is a cartridge or a bottle of ink of their brand
Thank you for showing us your superb collection, very inspiring for new purchases ! Thanks
You are so welcome. more to add to the collection after he holiday :-)

Hahahah - someone just asked about ink.. so that will be about 4 hrs. 😆
Glad I found your page! Cool collection and your info was really helpful.

You are going to have such a great time. And that budget is nothing to scoff at. I think you will find more than enough
Just becoming interested in pens…and this was so helpful!

Thanks for the info! Someone else said that too - they are very similar looking to me, prob why they ended up being organized together.
I'm eyeballing your ink collection and I'd loveeeeee ink videos!
That would be a fun one… do we have 3 hrs? 😂

Wonderful! I just saw the sky blue one this week. Such great pens.
Such a great and varied collection!
@@just__celia story of my life :-)
Nice collection Mark! Do you have left-handed nibs on your pens? Or you have adjusted to the right-handed nibs?
I’ve adjusted to them.

What is the name of the brass pen at 4:40?
That’s from Little Hollow Customs and it’s called The Reduction model littlehollowcustoms.com/collections/reduction-model

Any chance of this video but displaying the marks they make?

Do you have any issues with Pelikan Twist clogging? I love mine, but it clogs fast, I might need a better wet ink for it
It doesn’t get as much play as my other, but when I grab it to use it quick it works. So maybe you are right about the ink type.
Umm... I think one of your Esterbrooks is actually a Conklin. Great video and nice collection.
Oh yeah…. They look so alike.

@markyourpages awe thanks for answering, I noticed it across UA-cam it's not just u, I can place it on 0.95 speed 👍😊
So...thanks, I guess. I finally pulled the trigger on the Esterbrook and then discovered the pen I had my eye on was on sale. :)
@@werbette that’s awesome! Love when that happens
Cool
This may be more costly for you, but for travel - see a travelling ink well - try Pinider

@@markyourpages I use it for flights. The fountain pens are kept empty because they always leak. You can refill on destination
Serious question, do you really like Lamy ?
It disappointed me, honestly
I have a soft spot for it since it was my first. And I’ve never had an issue with them. Always easy go to’s. What has disappointed you about yours?
