That 'Storm' looks like a complicated ride... all the parts too it. The overall cost of it, makes you wonder how something like that can be financially viable!
@@carolineandphilmorgan.8182 No, I mean't the Danter's Air ride. There are at least four trucks carrying parts. Where they are setting it up doesn't look like there is enough room to swing, whilst obviously there is. I wonder how much weight is being lifted as the central pillar is being lifted into place. Then there are the 'two' cabins. I saw another video where we see the operator working the ride. His cabin/pay box was on the left side of the ride. The identical cabin on the other side was obviously not in use. In fact, I have seen a photo from the Hoppings where the right-side cabin/pay box wasn't even installed. Lets say it is £5.00 a ride. There are five 'arms' of chairs with a capacity for five people on each arm. (Lets, say, for argument sake, that they only get 3-2-3-2-3 people on each ride = 13 people x £5.00 = £65.00 per ride average. One ride lasts about 2.30 minutes. So, within the space of an hour we are looking at 24 rides 24 x £65.00 = £1,560.00 per hour. (even if there are delays and a fall off of customers at tea-time, we would still be in the region of £1,500.00. per hour) Say that the ride operates from 2pm until 10pm on the Saturday of the fair. 10 hours x £1,500,00 = £15,000.00 per day. Now do you get the picture? I once helped set up and take down a Waltzer (back in the 70s) and I have also worked 'gaming-stalls.' They certainly take the money. I can see why these type of rides are worth the investment. Are Danter's the premier fun-fair people in the UK? They always seem to have the newest gear... trucks etc... I have held a lifelong fascination with funfairs. My favourite ride still remains the 'old style' upright Paratrooper. (run by Cummings in the 60s/70s)

Good video, thanks.
