This song always breaks me down into tears. Because i was that little boy. My parents never let us believe in santa but we were always struggling. when i was younger i saw my mom cry a lot around christmas because we just didnt have money. I think about this a lot because now i have my son and we are in the same situation.
I’m in this situation now. My parents are divorced and have been since I was 9 or 10 I don’t really remember. I’m 13 now and every year The thought of Christmas makes my chest hurt. No one knows I feel this way obviously. My mom cry’s a lot because of money and I know the best thing to do is act like I don’t know but watch what I tell her I want for Christmas when she asks. I’m not upset that I don’t get many presents. I don’t care about presents I just wish my family would suck it up for at least one day for us all to be together.

All the kids would lay down on the floor in the auditorium, they'd hand out popcorn for everyone. Everyone would be in their pajamas and have blankets and pillows with them. It was so different from the normal elementary school day, it really seemed like a dream. The Polar Express is a timeless movie.

Man it still gives you that choked up feeling. It makes you think about the faith and joy Christmas brings to so many people but at the same time reminds you it's not a happy time for everyone. But also it makes you remember why Christmas has such meaning, that giving to ones less fortunate and remembering to cherish the time with family and friends.

I think I’m blessed sometimes. Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I’m always happy to be surrounded by my family. I’m epileptic, and allergic to a lot of medication so never being in the hospital for Christmas is another reason to celebrate. It’s been a long time though since I sang this song all the way through. So long that I forgot some of the lyrics. It makes me sad though, because I sang this song to my Grandpa on his last Christmas Eve. Maybe it’s selfish to stop singing one song during Christmas, but he seemed so proud that I sang the whole song through, and my voice has been through a lot. So this makes me feel a rainbow of emotions because there isn’t one day that I won’t stop missing him or my grandma, or anyone else I love. I know they’re all looking after me, even my buddy Goldie. And one day we’ll be together again, but until then, I miss them and in the nicest way possible, you only know how painful it is to lose someone you love when it’s too late to say a last I love you, give a last hug, or tell a last joke. And if you haven’t experienced losing someone yet, you have no idea what kind of emotional pain you’re in for. Be it your pet, a friend, a family member, that is an indescribable pain. Besides on the movie, I heard it mostly in 2005 when another station, B98.7 KBEE, decided to go with all-Christmas for the season. They only did that for one year, and I'm sad that it didn't continue. I'm going to try to sing this for my family today... but I cannot keep it together! I'm an almost 46-year-old man but I have to SOB my way through this song! It makes me SUPER emotional! Thankfully I didn't suffer this sort of wishful anxiety as a kid; we were blessed to live comfortably. But this song makes me have empathy for children whose trial to bear is that they are sadly in this position! May the Lord bless me as I do my best to perform it, because I turn into the little kids and just go to pieces! Everytime I listen to this song it makes me feel emotional. I remember clearly back in elementary that my school and others did a couple of plays and our class was chosen to perform the polar express. I think I’m blessed sometimes. Christmas is my favorite holiday, and I’m always happy to be surrounded by my family. I’m epileptic, and allergic to a lot of medication so never being in the hospital for Christmas is another reason to celebrate. It’s been a long time though since I sang this song all the way through. So long that I forgot some of the lyrics. It makes me sad though, because I sang this song to my Grandpa on his last Christmas Eve. Maybe it’s selfish to stop singing one song during Christmas, but he seemed so proud that I sang the whole song through, and my voice has been through a lot. So this makes me feel a rainbow of emotions because there isn’t one day that I won’t stop missing him or my grandma, or anyone else I love. I know they’re all looking after me, even my buddy Goldie. And one day we’ll be together again, but until then, I miss them and in the nicest way possible, you only know how painful it is to lose someone you love when it’s too late to say a last I love you, give a last hug, or tell a last joke. And if you haven’t experienced losing someone yet, you have no idea what kind of emotional pain you’re in for. Be it your pet, a friend, a family member, that is an indescribable pain. You don’t get over it. But I can promise that you do get through it. Happy Holidays.

Happy Christmas! Oh my gosh, I LOOOVVVE this song, and I wish our station FM100.3 KSFI here in Utah would play this! They play Believe a lot but not this. Besides on the movie, I heard it mostly in 2005 when another station, B98.7 KBEE, decided to go with all-Christmas for the season. They only did that for one year, and I'm sad that it didn't continue. I'm going to try to sing this for my family today... but I cannot keep it together! I'm an almost 46-year-old man but I have to SOB my way through this song! It makes me SUPER emotional!
Thankfully I didn't suffer this sort of wishful anxiety as a kid; we were blessed to live comfortably. But this song makes me have empathy for children whose trial to bear is that they are sadly in this position! May the Lord bless me as I do my best to perform it, because I turn into the little kids and just go to pieces! And I pray that Heavenly Father will bless the lives of little children everywhere to be able to feel the magic of the season of his Son Jesus Christ's birth, even if part of that in their early years is that they get to give and receive some fun presents with family members.
