'It's like I discovered who I was'

It wasn't until after he had studied industrial design and served in the U.S. Navy that Casey Downing of Mobile, Ala., realized he could turn his art into a full-time career.
Today, he is constantly working on commissions for public sculpture, and he helps train up-and-coming sculptors, as well.
