It's basically a reimagining of the old Top Gear. They even put the Las Vegas song in. Yes, it's very arcady, but pretty fun. It doesn't try to be a AAA simulation, it doesn't try to fill the tuner street race niche, it's a fun little game that knows exactly what it wants to be. And the soundtrack is also amazing.
This game looks arcady but it has strategies. Car selection also plays a role. Some tracks are like puzzle when you can't win but after try many strategy and winning those challenges feels great. F1 mode is best f1 feeling it is really so fast also has first person view.
No wonder it looks so familiar. That game was what got me started on racing and cars back in the day. Bought this game in a heartbeat after your comment haha
If you like this wonderful game, you'd also like Hotshot Racing. Another brilliant arcade racer with cartoony graphics and fun yet strategic gameplay, vintage look but built for modern systems.
Still playing outrun 2006 on my cheap fanless laptop even pushing myself to install emulators on my mobile phone and tablet just to play it this horizon chase was a breath of fresh air I'm glad they used retro graphics so it will run on cheaper laptop computers as I just bought the 8GB version Microsoft surface 3 just to play it I hope it runs ok lol
@@HappyBeezerStudios I had to buy an Asus laptop as the surface go is touch screen for a so called premium tablet its pretty awful I know its not designed for games but out run 2006 and horizon chase don't play too well if at all on a touch screen Microsoft dropped the tablet mode too now its placed in a box brand new ill never use it again shame.
Is the game fun, yes. Colorful yes. Came here after completing the DLC and unlocking every vehicle with the excpetion of the 4 vehicles unlocked through tournaments and long endurance. I think its easier to control on PC. On my PS4, never finished it. In fact, i tell people its fun and literally the only game that will actively piss me off
They did. Or they tried to. Another shitty KS 'success' that has spent 6.5 years being developed by a one person team and supposedly helped out by Nicalis. Look on the KS page, and he hasn't updated since 2015. Kinda makes it hard for anyone else to revive the genre when the revival is DOA.
So you're telling me that I've never played Horizon Chaee Turbo? Well, guess what? I HAVE played it! I've completed the World Tour, I've completed the Endurances, and I've completed the Tournaments. So, in conclusion, I have played Horizon Chase Turbo, and you cannot tell me otherwise.
I guess the games OK but theres 1 thing in it that ruins it all for me, the f*cking opponents getting in front of you and the collisions making you lose so much speed and I'm talking about when you hit cars from the side or worst when they hit you I've been grinding this f*cking game so I can uninstall it and never see it again
Top Gear dude....the game looks like is Top Gear....the physics are the same from Top Gear, the animations are the same as Top Gear and the soundtrack is FROM THE SAME COMPOSER AS TOP GEAR....... Why people don't do their homework?
This game, 100%, would be 100% better if it did literally anything unique. The developers were like.. Guys, we know Top Gear, Lotus, and Outrun existed before, but here's a new game in the same graphics with shittier physics, worse mechanics, zero customization, terrible collect-a-thon aspects, and a pretty much insufferable amount of DLC. The ultimate edition would cost 3x what the original game was actually worth (15$ as a nostalgic romp). I get more enjoyment out of any two of Judgment / Lost Judgment arcade games, minigames, racing, or just running around fighting. The music, while decent as a throwback, is just as unoriginal. If they just reskinned Top Gear 1, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. Senna deserves better than this retro heavy, originality lite schlock.

Grew up with Top Gear SNES. I have all 3 games still. I absolutely love this call back to the OG arcade styles

The game's main inspiration is Top Gear for the snes

Looks super fun and I don't know why I did not buy it when it was on sale! That snow map hurts my eyes!

The graphics are part of the kind of game they orient the game after.

im gold at everything, this game is super addictive to me
This game is super addictive. And the Senna DLC 👌
I really wish someone would make a successor of Daytona USA

Have you tried Hotshot Racing. It's more similar to Virtual Racer but it's pretty darn good.
Not quite low poly but nice, simplified graphics. Definitely one to try out :)
got this as a free game key on a twitch stream.can't beat that! :)
nice vid, but I think arcade racing games were not so few. Flatout 1/2, Split/Second, Blur, Trackmania Series, other less known games.
Reminds me a lot of 'Outrun'.
That's intentional. There's even a "Summer Vibes" DLC which is an homage to Outrun's car, tracks and music.

Great review brother you convinced me of buying 5 minutes into the video
I'm not a fan of racing games in general, and i love this game!
The closest to Outrun series.
Agreed with every single word in this review!

Online wouldve been so fun
Pssssttt.. If you wanna know the real inspiration behind the style, music, amd gameplay.. Check out Top Gear for the SNES! 😉
Flatout 2 is hard to beat

Wow, I found a rare intelligent comment on UA-cam
