Just heard Billy Stings verson (july 2014) it was superb I had completely forgotten this beautiful song until today. sometimes called Guide Me where ever I roam.
My grandpa taught me this song about 6 months before he died. His dad used to sing it. I had forgotten the name, but came across this Mac Wiseman video and found it. THANK YOU for posting this and helping keep the memories alive. I miss singing with my grandpa and I miss him every day.
Many thanks for this song I never heard before. Happy New Year to you and family. As guitar player, I appreciate the 12 string guitar "work'" (right channel). Jo
Thanks jo This is a very old one also jo this is Macs old home place here in Va.I took many pictures of it. Happy New Year to you and yours and many many more .I would love to hear you play your music . put a video up sometimes. Again thanks and hello to France
This song was very popular in Finland during the second World War, of course with finnish words "The candles at home" Kodin Kynttilät. The war times come always in my mind when I hear this song but as a warm greeting to the soldiers from their homes. War itself is always a very bad thing.
