remember visiting mold junction shed with halifax railfans club, possibly 1962-63 and the going to wrexham and croes neyed sheds, many happy memories after seeing this video.
I remember seeing the first diesel locos D1000 + coming in to replace the magnificent GWR locos and spent many hours of my young life at those flight of locks that had road rail and canal routes intertwined
Absolutely fabulous. I'm from Chester and love the research you have done. I have many documents from the Council regarding the destruction of Northgate Station and others in the vacinity. Thank you so much for these invaluable vlogs.
It's a crying shame that the engine sheds have been left to deteriorate like they have. As a Saltney boy born and bred it brings a tear to the eye to see it
The extremely high standard of previous films is maintained here which is far more watchable and educational than the people who plaster their faces all over the screen. Onwards to Broughton & Bretton.
Fabulous! This is all local to me, so I have additional interest, even though it would be every bit as engaging if it were elsewhere. Hope there is a follow on episode. Huge thanks for this wonderful video. And I echo all the praise the other folk have already given here. Cheers.
@@PASTFINDERexploring that’s beyond amazing. Thanks in advance for this!! The nearest the line came to where I live, is, five mins walk from my house, halfway along the run from Broughton bretton station to kinnerton station. Nothing to see there though! Keep well. Si
My Great Grandparents on both sides the Browns and the Chiltons moved to Saltney Ferry with the railway in the 1800's. All males in the family were railway workers of some sort or other
I recall much of this railway and station from the 60's and early 70's when I travelled from London to my parental home in North Wales. The video's narrative is well presented but it's a shame that the much of the film is out of focus.

Hi Terry, thanks for watching. Would have been great seeing Western at Chester. Didn't realise they reached that far north.
Such a very sad evocative video shows you how much railway infrastructure we have lost.
Thanks Michael. Indeed our transport network has been systematically destroyed.
Terrific!! Well researched and produced, many thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the next instalment.........
Thank you for watching. Keep an eye on the channel for the next part.
Wonderful! Your films are quite brilliant, I’ve watched all of them and they never disappoint.
Thank you so much for your kind comments and thanks for watching. Glad you enjoy them

Thank you Roger, for your kind comments. Most of the destruction would be invaluable today. Shortsightedness!
Been a few years since I went to Chester but it seems I missed quite a bit of architecture. Need to visit again. Thanks Bob
Hi Bob, yes quite a bit to look at. The whole station is full of relics of the past.
Superb detail, sound and film quality. Well done. I know Chester station well but I learned so much more from your research. Many thanks. Geoff Poole.
Thanks Geoff, glad you liked it.
Great video and beautifully presented. So sad to see what has happened to Mold Junction Engine Shed.
Thanks, yes it is but at least it's still around, just. to see today.

Yeh it is a massive shame Ian, was used until recently but they do look a bit crumbly now. Heritage I'm afraid is not important for most people now.
Looks more like ‘Third Class Waiting and Refreshment Room’ to me. Another excellent video. Looking forward to the next instalment
Just had another look at the pic. I think you may be right.
A most enjoyable video . Thanks for posting
Thank you for watching.
Once again a lovely clear and concise investigation plus fitting music.Looking forward to the next part.
Thank you Tim.
A wonderful video detailing Chester station & the route to Saltney Ferry. Looking forward to seeing more videos like this. 👍
Thank you Jeff. Glad you enjoyed it. Keep an eye on the channel for the next instalment.

Thanks Steve. certainly will.
Beautiful video!
Thank you Frank. As always your comments are well recieved.
Thoroughly enjoyed your video fabulous presentation, I always think of all the jobs the railways created? Progress? So they say.
@@mikeg3293 Thank you so much Mike, very kind. Hardly ever progress when a railway is closed.
Much appreciate

Very kind, care to join me on the next part?
Indeed

Hey ! I was looking for part 2 of this video but carnt find it ?
Hi John. Not made it yet. This series will be ongoing throughout the year. Keep an eye on my channel for when the next parts are released.

Thsnk you Stephen, film footage is fine. Check your stream, maybe it's a bit slow. That can cause the film to look out of focus.
