You'll never know how that sentence became me. Hitting a dead end when you're struggling to make your dreams a reality, you know? I remember sitting on my own long after it'd started getting cold, staring out into space, fighting to keep my face straight. From underneath all that roiling black misery, that one sentence rose up over it all. It made me grit my teeth, blink back the tears and jump to my feet. I roared to the world, to myself, your words. The only thing that can stop me is me. And that's not happening, cause I make my own energy. I'm a dynamo, and there's no way in hell anyone's stopping me. Just let them try. You can't stop me now. It's so weird thinking back on it. Cause I actually managed to become that person that I vowed to be in that moment. Yeah I made it to Japan - I moved without having a job and I still made it work, got a job, saw places that took the words right out of me, met the warmest people I've ever met, even found somewhere I felt I could belong... I went out and made the kinds of memories that come to define you, that mean more to you you than there's words to explain it by. I did all that, and you helped me do it. Even now I'm home again and I'm still working to go back there again, practicing the language every day. My dream's become tougher, but more robust. And brighter than ever. You've never met me. You don't know a thing about me. But you helped me, made me stand tall and face any challenge the world could throw at me. So it made me smile, dude, it was just the best feeling.
