Omg, something similar happened to me. Multiple times I lost huge stashes of dolls for various reasons. Maybe I will talk about it in a video for some doll therapy sessions. Clearly I ain't the only one with childhood traumas from losing dolls as a kid. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Your comment is tempting me to try but I would have to convince my busy husband to take a break from his channel to help me with the writing and voices. 😬

The comments inspired by this video are so heartwarming (and heartbreaking). Great video! I don't own any of these dolls, but they're all gorgeous and interesting. I wonder if the doll with the stubborn bangs has kanekelon hair? She's my favourite from this list, look-wise 😍😍 Toxic Positivity Barbie sounds hilarious - probably would be annoying but also occasionally helpful, haha

For Thanksgiving, i had some chicken breasts, stuffed with asparagus and cheddar, stuffing, pumpkin pie, charcuterie meats and various cheeses and a six pack of Blue Moon beer. i was alone. It was GREAT!
i agree with you, Gypsie, about holidays.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only holidays that i truly acknowledge.
i don't even acknowledge birthdays; i barely remember my own when it comes up.
But there's a special feeling that comes with Thanksgiving and Christmas for me and it isn't about getting things.
It hasn't been about gifts for me since. ..i don't know when.
But it's definitely a time to be grateful, humble and charitable. Not just to people you personally know, but to share the love within yourself with strangers. Spreading cheer and goodwill wherever you go.
These are things that i like to practice all throughout the year, but it somehow feels easier around this time.

bruh, i was reading what your thanksgiving spread was and was thinking, dang, who cooked all that? then you shocked me by saying you spent the day alone! Whatttt? sometimes i wish my dolly friends lived close enough to chill with in person, you woulda had a seat at our humble table for sure. did you cook all that food or someone made you a plate? That's a damn good meal for someone to eat all alone! dolly hugs!

Love that you got so many of the S.I.S. dolls! They're so expensive now. I've got one, which I love. She's a Grace but not sure which exact version (bought her already rebodied on a MtM). What really caught my attention about her face were the slight lines/puffiness under her eyes. She looks like a gorgeous but slightly worn-out mom. Her name is Zahra and yeah, just love her.

I love that little back story about her looking like a tired mom! I love when our dolls have character and personality.

Thank you, Gypsie 🥰. It was fun to learn about your oldest dolls. My collection started in 2019, so I don't have any of your oldest dolls. The oldest dolls in my collection are from 2000, Merlin and Morgan le Fay.

Thank you for making this wonderful video. Yes, I was collecting dolls like you without knowing that I am a doll collector since I was young and I did not stop playing with dolls and collecting them and I will not stop until my last breath in this life. My journey in collecting dolls was difficult, especially since I am a boy and from an Arab and Muslim society that did not accept the idea of a boy playing with dolls. They thought that I was either sick or possessed by the devil. 😂😂😂😂 But I did not pay attention to them and continued to play with dolls. Until now, I collect and play with dolls and with pride I used to play with any dolls I find in front of me. The first Barbie or part of Barbie that I saw in my life was her legs and she was in the trash can in the street. I had never seen such long legs in my life until I saw a complete Barbie with all her accessories with my cousin. From that moment, I fell in love with Barbie and it was a difficult dream to achieve because my parents would not accept to buy me one, but I collected money from my allowance and the money I collected from the holidays and finally bought the Barbie of my dreams. She was a princess. Barbie, but I don't know her name and I still have her dress until now. As for the doll, my father burned it and that was the worst day of my life. I made myself aware that I would not despair and continue collecting dolls. Now I have a large collection of Barbies and different dolls and now I live in bliss 🩷😆💪🏻

Wow, what a story. I think many of us have memories of dolls being lost or taken from us during childhood. And those memories really affected us as grown ups. We take such great care of our dolls now because we don't wanna relive the pain of seeing them damaged or taken away. But it's a blessing those times have passed and now we have more control over our lives. Such a shame something as innocent as a toy can be weaponized against a kid. The doll community wouldn't be the same without you, I'm glad you took charge and pursued your love for dolls!

I grew up in the 1960s and didn’t have a Barbie (or other ‘fashion’ doll) as a child. I bought my first Barbie when I was nearly 60 - a pre-owned Barbie from eBay - she had a weird lever on her back to make her arm wave - I body swapped her onto one of the 100 moves Style (now Deluxe Style) bodies. Her name is Ina.
A lot of Barbies since then (and some Gene Marshall, 15inch dolls)

For Thanksgiving I had nothing to eat because I can’t eat solid foods because of dentist messing up my mouth so bad and so many surgeries, so over 5 years I haven’t been able to eat and clicking on a Barbie video and seeing the spread, rubbed me. Also is this a storytelling channel or what. I subscribed but now wondering why. And hey everyone you can get clothes on Temu really cheap, I see a lot of these dolls in the same clothes I got from there on these dolls.

This channel is what I constantly describe it as: a safe space for adults who love dolls to share their knowledge, passion and interest in dolls; openly. You're welcome to join us if that is a community you think you will benefit from and want to contribute to. We learn a lot from one another in the comments section while exchanging info. I'm not sure what you were expecting but that's what we do here. Have a dolly day.

I’m so scared to wash my dolls hair and faces bc I don’t have any kind of knowledge about doll hair that can deal with doll hair I don’t know what kind of paint that’s used for dolls

    • @BrokenDollyTV
      @BrokenDollyTV  6 днів тому +1

if they are barbies, you can wet their hair and bodies. remember they are toys for children and kids often take them into the bath tub with them. as long as they don't have custom painted faces, factory paint will not come off with water. The only way to remove the paint on the face is by using chemicals. You can put them in cold or hot water, use soaps and conditioners. The only thing to be careful about is using flat irons or curling irons on the hair. That's not a good idea unless you use a certain technique. hope that helps
