I have had my housegirl for 15 years. She has the keys to my house and I do not lock my bedroom or fridge. I do not use sugar but I buy for her. Lesson treat others as you would like to be treated. Treat your house girl like a human being created in the image of God just like you!!

I stayed with my house help 18 years.
She even came along to my sons ruracio after having left my house 11years earlier to settle at home.she stayed in touch with the boys she raised. When she passed on the boys did everything to give her a decent burial.
I want to say, thank you for being you. Thank for empathy and the humility , may the Lord continue to protect,blessed with your beautiful warm heart and your family.

What an inspiring Story!!. Having grown up in a household where house managers were treated fairly and kindly this warms my heart! My late parents DM worked for them for 30 + years. When my mom passed on last year, we made a decision to keep her! she's like our 2nd mom and basically runs our home. We are all adults 40+, but each time we visit Kenya/upcountry its feels like our parents still live there. The home is well kept. We have assured her that her pension is covered should she decide to leave. She chose to stay! I love her dearly and would move mountains for her!

Wewe wacha...do you know how kikuyu mothers love employing Luyha ladies? My sisters kids and my moms best nurse aid / house manager are luyhas. We literally cant trust anybody else. The house managers travel with us upcountry & holidays. My point is, hata mkikuyu kawaida ana prefer mluyha ama mkamba kuliko mkikuyu kwa house management.
