Carousel - Mister Snow, If I Loved You - part 1 of 2

Special host Renee Fleming, along with her cast members Lindsay Mendez, Jessie Mueller and Joshua Henry, from the 2018 Broadway musical revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel, perform songs from the show, as part of the release of the 2018 Broadway cast recording: (1) "Mister Snow" sung by Lindsay Mendez (begins at 3:00) and (2) "If I Loved You" sung by Jessie Mueller and Joshua Henry (begins at 8:25).

Joshua Henry is so real and funny in this - and that VOICE! I love how he combines classic Broadway with his own soulful style. He and Jessie are great together; they have real chemistry.

I love how he does the very classical version but he also has a more jazzy version on UA-cam as a cover. And he sounds 100 % different. So talented and skilled

Here Lindsay almost sounds like an old radio broadcast or record rather than the classic soprano sound (which I also love!) This cast really was a landmark as Renee said

She sings it in the style of Ethel Merman. Ethel Merman was a mezzo-soprano, yet, impressively, Lindsay is still knocking it out of the park on the high notes here as well!!

Just listening, I would never had guess that was Joshua Henrry. I think is the first time he use his voice and apply a more lyrical technique? Love it. So emotional. Jessie, nothing to say she is unstoppable XD

Jessie Mueller is the best Julie Jordan and Carrie I've ever heard. I can never unhear her voice like Julie Andrews'. For Joshua's Billy, incredible baritone but sorry, it's still Robert Goulet for me.
