In the first attempt with potassium the shot glass did fly up. In fact it flied most excellently! :)

What a majestic sight.
Even at normal speed, it looks to have flied up quite a bit. I can attribute this just to the sheer amount of energy released, thus propelling the shot glass.

Maybe if you try something more stable than the beaker which, however, also fits the dimensions of the shot glass much more closely, the reaction could be a lot more directed to cause something like a projectile?

Nah, it's pretty fun. obviously there are some upper limits but speed and alcohol isn't that dangerous as long as you don't have pre-existing heart problems.

I love how in all these videos the Professor says Brady and Neil dreamed it up, and he merely obliges. I picture the Professor like a kindly grandfather who has all this cool shit at his house so he lets his grandchildren run amok.

Only in the world of chemistry could you make a jaegerbomb that catches fire or explodes and call it a flop. It would make for a great bar trick. I think a "Rube Goldberg" chemistry machine is in order. It'll keep Neil busy for weeks!

Of course it won't be blown out upwards, the beaker is so wide that the shot glass just tips over when you drop it in, and the explosion pushes it against the wall of the beaker.

Jägermeister was originally popular as a digestif, an herbal liquor drank after meals to aid in digestion, so the people at the shop would have thought nothing of him buying it.

+Heavy Osmium My 10th grade science teacher once poured liquid nitroglycerin down the drain. Won't come as a surprise what happened when the cleaners turned on the water later that night. The (minor) explosion did surprise the unsuspecting cleaners though, and they refused to clean the lab after that.
He also dropped burning magnesium into a sink he'd just poured methanol into. Quite the (unplanned) pyro-show.
Quite a wonder we all survived 10th grade science. It was awesome.

The B-role of Nile preparing the Jagerbomb with is lab coat and stuff was pretty funny to me.
Smiles were had when the professor as a PhD student was seen.
Jägermeister is pretty good though. Energy drinks can screw off.
Thanks to the professor's investigative work, it is clear to see how Jager played a vital role in the formation of the universe........I always had my suspicions.

Cashier at Liquor store: You wont believe what happened today at work... Doc Brown bought a 4 pack of redbull and some Jager for Jagerbombs.
Ok, this was spectacular. One of the best vid's to date for me. The deviation in the reactions REALLY had my brain thinking. I usually watch this stuff for entertainment or for learning but this one stimulated the wonder in me.......really awesome.
