  • We are dance teachers, mothers, sisters, daughters and friends in Cape Town, South Africa engaged in the decolonial work of re-membering ourselves, body, mind and spirit. Different generations of women (20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s) and all dance teachers choosing not to be defined or limited by age or other social ceilings and to resist the silencing of the Spirit in our embodied practices. Covid-19 brought us together and reminded us that our dancing days are never over. In our Creator, we live move, breathe and have our being. In this project six dance teachers collaborated in dance making and performance to honour our Creator, the land, each other, life itself, intergenerational and ecological ways of being.
Dancers: Gio Fisher, Gita Arends, Desre February, Robin Josephs, Lisa Wilson.
    Filmmaker: Enrico Arends
    Research funding: UCT Block Grant

I love the openness with nature and how everyone moved...❤ to show that we serve a creative God.
