Love James' power puff girls shirt lol
School dinners in Ireland used to give Blancmange one a week or once a fortnight
Dyed pink ...yeah it never ever tasted of fish and was a vaguely pleasant experience ..bland but we slurped it down ...tapioca pudding ..again an odd experience like maybe eating frogspawn ...
Sounds similar to the Irish moss drink that used to be popular in Jamaica.
Sounds like that stuff is what carrageenan comes from! You'll see carrageenan as an additive in a lot of foods, it's a natural thickener.
You can try something funny BUT delicious from Tunisia: it's called mouloukhia and it smell a lot of henna (which is a plant that is probably edible... I guess).
It looks like a liquidy hoummous but is the colour of mud (I know, I'm not selling it very well!), it's a bit spicy as in hot, and usually cooked with beef and you eat it with bread.
I swear the first time you see it you have to blink a couple of times and be reassured it is edible but the minute you taste it it's pure bliss.
Try it.
Made of jute leaf or Jews mallow I think it's called rather than henna though I wouldn't know if there's a relationship. My in laws make it (Egyptian origins) defo strange gloopy texture but a big fave even of the niece!
