She also credited Maya (the mother) in the song writing..so a portion of the royalties from streaming & stuffs for this song goes to Maya & her family.
Pretty sure Taylor have maya access to all the royalties for Ronan from what I remember

There is some good news, 2 years later, they had a little girl, and they named her Poppy Ronan Thompson.
1:54 honestly. Part of what makes me so attached to her music is honestly just loving her heart. She's genuinely empathetic to the point she gave a homeless pregnant teen a whole house a money, paid rent and food for a lot of families and single mothers during Covid and so much more. She genuinely puts herself in other people's shoes
She didn't take any proceeds from this song at all. All goes towards Ronan Foundation + other child cancer research..(+ Taylor also credited Maya as a songwriter together with her for this song).
She ONLY performed this song live twice..once during the premier of this song..Stand Up to Cancer telethon in 2012 & also during one of her 1989 tour stops where Maya & family (Ronan's mum & her family) were in attendence (& it was after she got Maya permission). On BOTH occasion..Taylor barely able to hold her tears during the performance. In fact, after the premier, there's photos of Taylor crying her hearts out, backstage.. Ronan was ONLY available for downloads via i-tunes (which was recorded during the premier of the song)..the song top the i-tune charts just few hours after it released btw, UNTIL Taylor (with Maya permission) gave Ronan his forever home in the RED (Taylor's Version) album in 2021...
note: imo, Taylor's heart is bigger than anyone else in the world..she has donated millions & millions of dollars to various causes + help countless more ppl throughout her careers & most of it was done privately..she help a homeless pregnant fan to purchase a home..help mother of 5 who lost her husband during pandemic..help countless students paying their student loan, help record store to stay alive during covid...help animal shelters..wildlife foundation + countless more..(where we, swifties only get to know of these after ppl posted it afterwards years after all these deeds was done)..

Thank you for this reaction! I cry every time I hear this ball... We lost our 17 yr old youngest of 4 sons. He also was a 30wk preemie. He fought coming into this world and then to fight leaving it.

As a mom, Maya is my favorite superhero. I can’t hear this song without sobbing.

I don’t know how she sings this in front of anyone bc I open my mouth and sobs come out, And I’m childfree by choice.
She’s only performed it three times. Once for a Stand Up to Cancer benefit concert, once during the 1989 tour when Ronan’s family was in the audience, and once during Eras for the same reason. Each time you can tell by her voice, she struggles to get through it.
Same. This and 'Bigger than the Whole Sky' get me so hard even though I'm childfree. I can only imagine.
