Brooks is my hero! I got my license in June 2022, then upgraded to General in July 2022 and now am earnestly learning CW. I can’t wait! I need to post my very first POTA SSB video to UA-cam so everyone can laugh at me! Keep up the videos and this one is so inspiring. THANK YOU!!
I hope to work Brooks on the air soon! ....and you too Thomas, I have my phone set to alert me, when you are on from the RBN, but I guess Murphy is just too close most of the time. I have tried repeatedly to hear you. Either I don't or you are barely in there.
Thanks for the inspiration. I’m working up the nerve to do my first activation. Just me, but I find I have more control and make fewer keying errors with a straight key.
Brooks absolutely killed his first POTA activation. I am not quite confident enough to give CW POTA a go yet (hopefully soon), but really appreciated watching someone else’s first go at it

THE LETTER D IS TAUGHT AS "DOG DID IT" AND E IS "EEK". F IS TAUGHT AS" DID I FAIL IT". SOUNDS FUNNY BUT AT ANY SPEED THEY SOUND THE SAME. THEY COME WITH FLASHCARDS. ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO AND GOOD WORK BROOKS..........RIDE THE WAVE THE CONTINUOUS WAVE!

Is all of the IC-705 case plastic? If so, how is the heat getting out of it?
It is all plastic. It seems to be engineered so that heat really isn't an issue under normal (not in full sunlight) conditions.
