For me the urban survival and edc priority is NSO. Not Standing Out. In urban environment any military green or camo colour special toolbelt is standing out like a sore thumb, people get nervous, it draws attention. I mean they are good for the woods. But in urban environment I use simple grey black brown and blue colours. Simple sport looking backpack or notebook bag looking like sidebag for work. Urban survival edc 101: Be gray man, blend in the crowd, be able to disappear in seconds in emergency.

agreed, this is a very nice light survival kit but I'd change the bag to a regular sport backpack. I'd add a cap and sunblock and spare cash.

Here in Spain I wear whatever I want because no one is paranoid here and no one stares at you unlike other parts of Europe and especially the US. Glad I bailed that dump LA back in 98 when times were supposedly good.

@@donnywilkes6417 There is only 4 emergency when literally everyone at once becomes a target. Chemical/biological event, nuclear fallout, extraplanetary disaster, innerplanetary disaster. If these happen really doesn't matter what am I wearing. But there is a lot more when it really matters. Most possible ones are local disasters, accidents, attacks, economy shocks, dangers of sudden martial law especially for us in middle/eastern europe. Local social collapse can be caused by anything in which it really matters how I appear during the outbreak, how I am seen, whether I can become a target or immediately disappear from the barbaric masses. someone who immediately catches your eye and you can identify, or someone who you can't describe because he looked just like any other person in the crowd. if you already carry a military bag, you are immediately identifiable. That's what I meant basically.

I would add a lighter and some water purification tablets and a few of the toilet tissue tablets. Also change the inside medical kit for better items, like 4x4s, Iodine swabs, pain meds, and items for worse injuries. Also a shamogg scarf as a a sling, for warmth, water filter and so on. Some food like high energy bars too. Finally a little poncho and space blanket. That covers food, water, shelter, first aid, tools. Another pair of socks is nice too.

I like your setup. I would suggest adding a lighter, I would carry a bigger water bottle with more water and perhaps some water purification tabs or a Lifestraw water filter. They are small and light and if you had to walk home would be important. Here in the US I carry a silcock key. Not sure how it is in Europe, but here commercial buildings require a silcock to open their outside water spigot. It can also open some train doors... A local paper map, so you have the option of backstreets. Moleskin in your first aid kit for blistered feet. Some protein bars ...I try to imagine what I would need if I had no option but to walk home! Also I love your dog!

For training, making a plastic and dull aluminum versions of the large knife. Practice with those, drill, spar, pressure test. Use the real one if only for practice scenarios.
And an ifak. Cat tourniquet. Stop the bleed. As the top guys say, if you're training to make holes, learn to plug them.

    Some suggestions;
A full size pair of tweezers. The Swiss Army knife tweezers are weak and have flat edges. And, once you pull out the tweezers from your SAK, you run the risk of losing them, or misplacing your knife.
Upgrade your water bottle to a quart/liter size. Most purification tablets are designed for this volume. Plus, you may want more water later on, before you have a chance to refill the bottle. With that said, maybe packing some tablets too.
A bandanna weighs nothing, but has endless possibilities.
An RFID bag used to prevent ‘credit card information theft’ may work as a Faraday cage. Definitely worth checking into.
The metal loop at the end of your knife grip, is for a lanyard. It could work as a glass breaker, but a small piece of cord tied to the handle would speed up the draw from the magazine pouch.
    Great video!!

Hi Lilly. Great info. Like your Faraday tin. For best results you need to ensure the the top has a bare metal contact (no paint etc preventing low resistance electrical contact). You can stop the contact surfaces corroding by using N0-OX-ID paste. Protect the battery charger by wrapping it in aluminum foil. Keep battery in a plastic bag to prevent shorting it then wrap in foil to protect the battery's internal control and protection circuits.

Your dog walking belt has such a first aid kit all you're missing is a water filter, a fire kit and an emergency blanket just to be complete...
Smaller dogs can pull like crazy... my Cocker Spaniel used to turn my hand blue as I had to wrap the leash around my hand twice to prevent her from pulling the leash out of my hand. With a shortened leash I was able to pull her off her front paws, which was the only way to stop her from rushing at people.

    Nice video Lilly,
Personally, I do not like a pocket clip on a knife. It's awkward in the hand, and causes hot-spots in your hand if you have to use it for a lengthy period of time.
Looks like you have a well thought out kit. I would add a spare pair of eyeglasses to your kit in case something were to happen to the ones you're wearing.
It also might help to keep a snack in your kit. Hard candy, energy bars etc.
Adding something like Liquid I.V. packets , or Propel Powder Packets with Electrolytes &Vitamins, to mix with your water is also a good idea. It helps replace the Electrolytes you lose when sweating. They don't weigh much at all, and come in handy.
I also have 8 Mil Disposable Orange Nitrile Heavy-Duty Gloves in my kit too.
Great video, thanks for sharing your EDC with us.

Unfortunately here in UK i would get arrested carrying any knifes like that or the pepper spray.
Some sprays are legal here but the cops would still pull me for it. A female would maybe be ok but not a guy. The Swiss army knife would be ok though.
But if it comes to the time where i have to go outside prepared i dont care about the cops, my survival comes priority.
A good self defence weapon is a boot lace (2ft long) with nut or bolt tied on the end. It could crack a persons skull open and neither componants are illegal seperate.
Think simple and stay low key !❤🙏

Here in Canada, if you asked me if i carried a knife 10 years ago I would have laughed at you. Now i never leave the house without a knife, sure its in my purse cause they really dont make good pockets on womens clothes, so in the purse it goes. Unfortunately thats considered a concealed weapon in Canada. So....hopefully I never need it. Thank you for sharing your load out! ♥️🇨🇦♥️

Don't stop carrying it, laws be damned when your life is at risk. But consider adding to it, perhaps mace/pepper spray/taser/ etc. Whatever you can afford and feel comfortable using without hurting yourself instead.

@@johnturtle6649 Thank you! I've looked for pepper spray, but that's illegal in Canada so are tasers unfortunately. You can buy a big can of bear mace, but you practically need a holster to carry that....aka won't fit in a purse, unlike those little pepper spray they sell in the States. I'm starting to think moving to the states is a good plan, cause they don't want you being prepared/ self sufficient in Canada!!

They make pepper spray that looks like a pen. Also a tactical pen or kubaton are great for self defense. As far as the knife, if you clip it to waist of your pants, on the inside, and wear a belt over the clip it practically disappears only to be found if you are frisked.

I appreciate your channel. Why did you not have any means to start a fire if you get caught out in the cold or woods or something and a blanket or means to stay warm and dry??? Just curious.....maybe a tarp even to make a tent or shelter out of and some rope to lash things if needed....just curious?

Hello Lilly. I am with you about the knife but the law in the EU and of course in Austria is very strict about knives. If the police stops you for a check will be in trouble. Even if you proctect yourself from a bad guy by stabing him you will end up in jail. In my country even a small knife from a nail clipper, especially if it has a locking mechanism it is considered illigal.

can i suggest a metal watch with a metal bracelet for (limited) self defence?
oso, i think the whistle should be in a sealed plastic pouch for hygiene purposes.
in all, its a very good set-up. i love the foldable metal ✂, a classic.
Tatonka makes great pouches, so does Blackhawk.👍
unfortunately, Tasmanian Tiger packs are not available in my country.
