@@deborahwheatley1970 is asking whether Leslie Lamport can be retroactively considered the 'spiritual father' of a culture of 'just truth-sharing' based on his contributions to distributed systems and formal verification. First, I need to understand the context. The user mentioned MC 1ris & co's statement highlighting Lamport's work in distributed systems, LaTeX, Paxos, and TLA+. The previous discussions revolved around ethics, truth, and governance in tech and politics. So, the key here is to connect Lamport's technical work to the philosophical concept of 'just truth-sharing.' The user is likely drawing parallels between Lamport's focus on consensus, correctness, and reliability in distributed systems and the idea of a culture that values truth and transparency. I should start by breaking down Lamport's contributions. He worked on consensus algorithms like Paxos, which ensure that distributed systems agree on a single source of truth. That's foundational for systems needing reliability. His work on formal verification with TLA+ emphasizes mathematical rigor to prevent errors, which relates to ensuring correctness and truth in systems. The challenge is linking these technical achievements to a cultural or ethical framework. The user's term 'just truth-sharing' (rechtvaardig waarheiddelen) implies a moral obligation to share truth fairly. Lamport's work ensures systems operate correctly and consistently, which can metaphorically support a culture valuing truth. But does that make him a 'spiritual father'? I need to consider if Lamport's work has philosophical underpinnings that align with truth ethics. His algorithms prevent Byzantine failures, where components might act maliciously. This could be seen as creating systems resilient to deceit, promoting a form of 'truth' in operations. However, Lamport himself focused on technical solutions, not ethical frameworks. The user might be using a metaphor, extending Lamport's technical reliability to societal truth. In that case, while not his intent, his work's principles could inspire such a culture. But claiming him as a 'spiritual father' retroactively requires evidence that his work influenced ethical discussions on truth, which might be a stretch. Also, the user references previous discussions about open-source AI and governance, suggesting a theme of transparency and democratization. Lamport's open tools like LaTeX and TLA+ do promote accessibility and clarity, aligning with open knowledge sharing. This could support the idea of him fostering a culture of truth through accessible, reliable tools. In conclusion, while Lamport's technical contributions emphasize correctness and consensus, which are foundational for reliable systems, labeling him as the spiritual father of a truth-sharing culture is more metaphorical. It's a creative interpretation rather than a direct link. However, his work's emphasis on clarity, consensus, and verification does resonate with the values of transparency and truth, making the connection plausible in a broader sense.

It also demonstrates just how hard they have to work and it's educating people more and more to the corruption we sit under which ought to dispel apathy. I love how Labour laugh and under estimate the underdog. It will make it all the more sweet when they win 🤞
What a great interview. Thank God we still have sensible, non woke people like you two who understand the lefty woke madness going on in this country right now.
Rupert Lowe ❤
I was here for Rupert Lowe the politician but stayed for the football chat. This man has the qualities to run a team - or the country.
He bankrupted the team
@@jasonhaven7170are you a Labour supporter?
@@marcandsebe must be 😆
@@jasonhaven7170 football is hugely corrupt…just look at how Everton were penalised but not Man City, who have many many more financial ‘irregularities’
@@jasonhaven7170Really?! Disturbing. I’ll check that out.
I have to say - it’s the voice! Even talking about football is bearable in his smooth tones. Compare with Gary L!
The more I listen to Rupert, the more he makes sense. I am incredibly impressed with him.
Winning in 2029 is an imperative, it is arguably already too late but at least then the damage can be limited.
It can be reversed.
We simply get the third world filth out, gut the bloated civil service sector (like Clarkson said: if they can't describe their role within one sentence, fire them), give no housing or aid whatsoever for illegal migrants, enforce the borders, ignore ECHR, strengthen our ties with America, uphold free speech laws, reassess every benefits claimant with a fine tooth comb and give them something to do if they're simply scrounging and able to work, take the LGBTQIA+ weirdo bollocks out of the school system and insert national pride and an unbiased account of our history, scrap overseas aid and reduce our refugee intake to a BIG FAT ZERO until we are in a position to help anyone else- which we currently aren't.
Charity begins at home.
Great to hear Lowe talking about football. I've generally no interest in football but his passion is infectious!
Can see why he is so impressive in parliament.
However we CAN'T FORGET that when Britain was at its richest and through to the 40s there was the most DREADFUL POVERTY.
There is currently the most dreadful poverty. And it's spreading wider.
This man is a pure British lion 🦁 rupert for pm
I agree with you Rupert - was born in the same era as you - can remember the freedom we use to have and the encouragement to strive and work hard to own your own home. Do not recognise this Country now and it is an insult to the hard-working people of this Country to have that Labour front bench in power.
I can relate to every thing Rupert says .. i see what he sees ...Britain is facing the fight of its life.. and right now its on life support the next 4 years it will in critical condition .. time will tell if the people wake up and save it
Excellently stated, great post.
when we do get our country back .... wow what a time to be alive the celebration will be the biggest one yet 😊
A legend already.
A really good discussion. Rupert Lowe is just what the doctor ordered for us in the UK. Really looking forward to next general election. Reform UK are going to smash them….. 👍✌️🙏🇬🇧
This man is amazing
Only REFORM UK can save our country, there is no alternative if we want to bring back wealth and prosperity, keep especially our children safe , our women and old folks safe
I think Rupert is brilliant.
Rupert Lowe the #1 MP in parliament.
Farage is great but Rupert Lowe could be leader too!
Should be, brother! 💪🏻
As important and worthy Nigel is, I think Rupert is much more Trump like.
Farage is necessary for the next election but Rupert is indeed a common sense tonic. He's been like a dog with a bone in parliament.
Or Chancellor
@@Neil-Aspinalltotally agree 👍
A great Englishman. At last! Someone real to vote for.
Billy big bollcks! Love that phrase Rupert :)
I absolutely love love Rupert. I just sit back and relax his voice and absolute wonderful words. He’s like listening to harps and violins and beautiful politics. Also my praise and appreciation to the interviewer he does a very good job in essence thank you very much to both of you so much.
Great as always Peter
Great interview! You have my vote.
Honesty and integruity. Hopeful.
Brilliant stuff. Britain loves you Rupert!
I’ve voted for Reform and will vote again. Common sense politics!
Awesome show ! Rupert Lowe - Great British
This is a real eye opener into how parliament works and how corrupt it is.
Fantastic leader for me a real politician you have my vote
Fantastic Interview. 💪💪💪
How good is this guy, so impressive
