More important I think: Toola Roola and Coconut Cream represent the ACTUAL target audience of the show: The little kids that still have a lot to learn about life!

And Starlight was converted into a brony, while the intro played!

That's what I love about this episode. People in this fandom seem to forget that there is a target audience at some point. Take the reaction to Honest Apple- people disliked the moral because it seemed to indicate that even if you have a negative opinion on something, you should keep it inside because you might hurt someone's feelings well totally failing to realize that hey- little kids need to learn this lesson because at such a vital age of growth, going up to someone and saying "Oh your art is bad" can shape some child's opinion about themselves and crush their spirit.

The moral was definitely a good one, especially with what Fluttershy said at the end.
This episode as a whole is going to be one of my favourites of season 7 to re-watch, it's so damn good.

We are lucky, I think Equestria would have been destroyed if the biggest part of the fandom showed up, "The Shipers!"

And once more! The ramblings begin! Please excuse what might be a huge pile of bullsheitey, my mouth was running and my brain was....doing whatever my brain does when it tries to make a point. I swear, my soapbox must be splinters by this point.

Also, Larson may have written the original version of the episode, but even though he's credited as sole writer, he has said that it was re-written in a way he did not like. It may have been that the only ones we saw that got the friendship message was the two small fillies(target audience), and none of the adult ponies(bronies).

Starlight could represent the adult baronies, as she had no part in writing, and the opening, was basically
Twilight: read this book I found
      Starlight: no I don't wanna
Twilight: don't judge a book by its cover
      Starlight: okay
      ( one theme song later)
Starlight: after reading your lessons, i just had to have my own copy... Oh no i turned into a brony, thanks twilight!

Twilight finally used the Canterlot Royal Voice. now the question is Can Princess Candace use it to or not? if not that means Twilight may be an alicorn type closer to Celestia and luna.

This is now my new favorite ep in the whole series.
This episode is a metaphor for the fandom. When Hasbro released the series to begin with, they did not expect the fandom to ever grow to its current size. Each voice actor has had their Fame and Misfortune and has proven how much the enjoy but also disapprove of the fandom. The point of the episode was to communicate how the show staff think of the fandom and the head cannons that have been produced. They have tried every way to communicate their thoughts, even through song but the fandom continues to argue over every epidode. But even 1 change, 1 good thing like BronyCon's chariy auction, can make all the annoyances worth it. And just like it said at the end, the staff will still have to deal with the fandom but they choose to accept it and deal with the annoyances. And, the fandom can wait a while for different things to be revealed.

*Sees the ending of the video* HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
I know this episode won't be a fav of mine, but this is one of those episodes where I want to see other's reactions to it.
I will add onto what you said it's okay to have a negative opinion on something. You also have to be ready to have people disagree with your opinion too.
FYI, Racebest did a live reaction of this episode while at Brony Con with others. Their reaction is funny as hell hahaha.

Long story short: _Show_ your opinion, not _shove_ your opinion (down people's throats) ;)
As far as I have my opinion on Twilight turning into an Alicorn (a bit too soon, but I understand why) or becoming a Princess (I think that it dumbed down her character a bit, but I can accept that), and as far as I have my own ideas of how the story could be developed differently, I never tried to force them upon people and I still respect the writers and enjoy the show for what it is. And it was actually the friendship lessons and morals that brought me to this show in the first place, so I would say that I'm one of those "Harmony Bronies" (as I call them myself) who are still living up to the spirit of the show and take its lessons to their hearts. Too bad that there's a lot of people who are in the fandom just for popularity. Especially here where I live there are many jaded, rotten fans who trash talk about the characters, criticize the episodes or just share pony porn / gore :P I'm pretty sure this is not the kind of result this show was supposed to make on people :P

No Johnny, the two fillies represent the child audience who actually pay attention to the lessons the show teaches and benefits from them as opposed to the adult audience who's more focused on character development, story and lure to really see what the show's all about. But I guess they also represent the not so critical part of the fandom too

    Amen.
Jk, I'm with you, in every. Single. Word.
I couldn't have said it better myself, honestly I think this is something that most of the fandoms should at least consider.

The sweet apple admirers seem to represent bronies that make OCs, you know how they are practically forcing their selves in with made up cutiemarks and everything... makes it feel like OCs bother the show writers (which kinda stoped me from making one of my own... I even thought of the name and everything....)

    • @Morten_Storvik
      @Morten_Storvik 5 років тому

I *highly* doubt that is the case. And if it *is* the case then that is just petty by the writers.
