- Backstreet's Bag: They are one of the most successful and influential boy bands and are part of the collective musical memory with huge hit songs including "I Want It That Way" & "Everybody". Now the Backstreet Boys are writing another chapter of their story with their DNA world tour in 2022 and 2023. VOGUE Germany met up with the five band members backstage. In this episode of In The Bag, Howie, AJ, Nick, Brian and Kevin show which things they would never leave home without and tell the story behind each beloved item. The band also reveal what their favourite word in German is and talk about their brand new Christmas album - A Very Backstreet Christmas.

@@MommaO09 Kevin Scott Richardson is one of the all-time best huggers I've had the blessing to be hugged by multiple times. Nothing much else compares, and I have wanted to be as memorable as he is to me for others. I used to think my ex-husband wasn't a very good hugger, then I met my now-husband soon afterward my break-up with ex. I thought that I had finally met a man that hugged as similar as Kevin hugged... one reason my future husband was a keeper!!! Kevin hugs like he genuinely cares so much for you and he is so grateful for you that you are a fan, and he envelopes you into a warm, authentic "bear hug." There is nothing like it in the world! I miss his hugs, but glad to see him last month again. I love these guys, God be with them all while they mourn and wish I could hug them, also.
Brian and Nick singing after Howie's "Yacht rock" comment is one of the most "all five of them together at the same time" things I've ever seen 🤣

Met them a few times in the 90's, and that's the way they have always been, just going with the flow. They are such normal, kind, down-to-earth people, and that Christopher Cross song is amazing. I head him sing, "Sailing" earlier this year live, and it was absolutely beautiful.
@@RachelPurington That's awesome! 😄 I finally got to see them live for the first time in 2019 after 24 years of waiting. I went in not wanting to hope too high, but they absolutely blew me away. As the only sister in a family of brothers, their small interactions leave me with no doubt as to why they're still together after everything they've gone through. They're brothers for sure. That and they're giant dorks 😂😂 Thanks for sharing your experiences!!

As someone who was a crazy fan who was sure I was gonna marry AJ or Brian back in the day, it’s so nice to see these guys doing so well, living a nice life with their wives and kids. 🥰❤️

They’re such family men, I love it
Oh Kevin 🥺😢 I relate so profoundly. My Mother Died recently, this year, too. I had been her Caregiver for 7 years and as she was dying in Hospice care in our sweet Home, I continued to tend to her even when she was no longer responsive. One thing I did for her was regularly apply a good amount of Strawberry 🍓 Chapstick to her lips. After she Died, I kept the Chapstick and I still hold onto it in a sentimental capacity. Kevin's emotions of loss, from one person who has lost BOTH Loving parents to another, is heart-rending. 🥀

Kevin bringing out his emotional side when talking about that chapstick was so sweet. He’s so sentimental about everything. Something I can relate to. I’m a huge sentimental fool too. He needs to fashion it into a necklace or keychain so he can carry it around with him always.
Siberia really is an amazing song, and I think only the fans really value it for what it is. The whole Never Gone album is amazing, and to me it feels like the beginning of the BSB of today.

Kevin's choice of song has a beautiful story and it is one of my favorite backstreet songs that has no video. Nick's choice of song is great because that song is what they are recognized for almost all the time. It is their theem song.

It’s crazy how we all went from being young & screaming our lungs out at a BSB concert, to growing up & getting married & having kids just like these fine gentleman have 😊
And we're still screaming our lungs out at their concerts!
We got NSYNC's version of "Sailing" back in 1997, and now we have the Nick and Brian BSB duo version!

I was an Nsync fan back when I was younger. Always loved the Backstreet Boys though, however, I am truly happy they are still together doing music, interviews, and seeing them from an adult perspective and the way they talk about their families! Are any of the other guys religious?
I know for sure Howie is. His wife is Italian and Howie's parents are Irish and Puerto Rican, so Catholicism is really important in those cultures. Howie was spoken about it recently. I have seen Nick talk about God since his children were born. I think Kevin is too but not hardcore. I know A.J. believes also but he's not hardcore or vocal like Brian.
So loved this, Vogue. It made me love BSB more and more. So loving husbands they are.

I'm from Germany and I laughed so hard when they said the German words. They remembered them pretty clear and it sounds very well when they speaks them out. 😉👍 So funny and entertaining the guys are, love them... ❤️ For me, who always carry a lipbalm with me too, was this a very warm hearted story from Kevin, that a simple thing that you use and you carry around with you everyday can be such a great thing and leave a story behind. I always feel uncompfortable when I forget my lipcare and it's not only the dryness of my lips. It's something different, deeper and emotionally. That I can't let go of this habit!🤔
