when he was listing the animals that the blowgun can kill, i had a flashback to forrest gump... when bubba was listing all the ways to prepare shrimp... i found it humorous.
Just bought on yesterday, im amazed with the quality!
I finally got my CS heavy duty 4' single piece blowgun and kit. I gotta low ceiling, so not much sword swinging, or even cane practice, but I cut the target part of the packaging off and taped it to the Amazon box with an old thick shirt rag behind it. My dog don't usually get nervous, but she don't like it. She's getting used to the protocol now. She's got her bed that's in a safe place. So I started at 25 feet shot a dozen or three of a dozen practice. I hit it with those stun darts, and they'd usually penetrate the stout cardboard even where there was duct tape. They knocked the target apart. Some hit a corner of the narrow box and rechochet with freaking pieces and paint and wood splinters from a door frame. I generally kept 98% on the target, which I had no back stop except my bedroom door. They will all penetrate part or all of the door, but I only hit it with one practice bamboo skewer after it had passed through cardboard. It probably didn't pierce all the way through the door. I forgot to look. It was tough to pull out for half a second. I also shot a bamboo practice skewer high to the right missing the target entirely and directly and full power shot into the wooden door jam trim, which it split and penetrated deeply. I've even got center cone shot humpers with the skewers, and kept using both. Fun as fuck! Moved the target and modified it with a hanging foam and rag stop tonight. It was at 25', now it's 41'. Was at 3.5' bullseye, now it's up at 6'4" and over 40' away. I like shitting upward better. Flat trajectory entire 37' of flight diagonally upward from 5' to the 6'4" Bullseye on one of my first shots. I had one round where I started cold after a break and two outliers, but I then focused and zoned and got off 5 into or edging the 1.5" bullseye, I'm guessing the bullseye diameter. I then fuck a shot and checked myself back into the zone for four more just around the Bullseye. I made some video's. It's cool AF to hear the wicked sounds these make. Sounds kinda like rocket fire I think. So I like shooting them fast for the sound also. Not real fast but continuous. I been figuring out all kinds of cool shit on how these versions projectile's work. I seen several Tim Wells video's. I had experience with blow guns as a kid, sling shot too. Mostly stuck to archery and BB guns growing up though. I actually have a baddass CS collection, and it's quite diverse. I practice some with all my blades except not so much with my sword canes, though I got customized grip controls of seine or bankline, tarred nylon, constrictors on strategically with big spikes, I dead lift tightened into place. They do not give. They look good if you can see it, and they allow control and orientation of both halves for proper drawing, then fighting both halves together in the dark or two hand grip on the heavy sword cane. I got a Spartan I carry some now. I can only fight my customized grip oak cane switching off single and double handed fighting with Kerambit knife in my other hand. I can switch hands with both, but not in action. I do that in the woods. This blowgun is not the greatest walking stick, but it works as one, and after I tie on a short leash to it's tip, it will be better. If not, I will make a better tip fit for traction. Don't want it too heavy though. Just leave it loaded, turn it upside down and pull of the tip, let that dangle on it's 2" leash, check the breach for load, and proceed to take aim and fire. I gotta order all kinds of cool darts like the shotgun setup. My new hanging Target setup at 41' is awesome. I'm very tired. I got a package of a 100 maybe 300, IDK, bamboo skewers from dollar tree. I pulled them out and compared them and they are same, though 2" longer. Even so, they fly the same I wanted to destroy a target dramatically, without making a big mess. So I fired a stun dart into an empty thick plastic empty coffee container. It launched it and left a dent and both ricocheted around violently. Not doing that again. Upsets my good doggie. I just got an ACME bronze whistle to call her with in the woods, and she responds better maybe. I will train her more everyday now, so I ain't gotta yell, and let everyone for a quarter mile know my business. This is a masterful tool for survival hunting, especially on the move, to make foraging enough or just game alone. I'm hurting all over, but man I dig all this, I hope I can still do solo canoe expeditions and such with my dog. I don't think I can be too badass now, cause all kinds old injuries everywhere. Key is not to make mistakes. Second key is to check your course and position at any opportunity for a mistake to be made, a deviation introduced, only to magnify greatly over time and distance if undiscovered, particularly in consequence. That applies to all of life's endeavors perhaps. Gonna tie constrictors onto the tube to limit position and provide control. I get muzzle rise with my most powerful shots, but it's not as bad when firing upwards even slightly. I believe my plan to stiff short leash the tip onto the muzzle, will dampen it, provided it's not able to keep swinging about.
i luaghed real hard at that boi shorts homie rocking highwaters lmao
I wish cold steel made darts for bigger game like raccoons, which we have a huge problem of. I've tried all the darts on them and the one that worked best was the mini broad head. The 5 ft blow gun is a great product though! Definitely worth buying!
@rkshirey Absolutely. He points out that you can get at least 100 uses out of the mini broad head darts. With the bamboo darts you might not get as many uses. You can increase the life of the darts by using a foam target. I have been shooting homemade bamboo darts against a cardboard box. The tips have blunted a little, but the darts sill work great after several shots. I should be able to get many more shots with these darts. If the tip gets dull enough, you can sharpen the tip with a knife.
does coldsteel deliver to the netherlands (holland)
one more question: what was the range on that dove?
WILL YOU GUYS EVER MAKE RAZORS AGIAN? I used caps so you guys will see it,not screaming
@triage911 good question! There is a way to avoid the problem: insert a piece of rubber band in between the mouth piece and the first inch of the barrel just to prevent your dart from sliding down. In my opinion I don't understand why these darts should be so loose in the barrel. I would prefer having the darts being snug in there just enough to run without blowing like crazy! Somebody told me that the cones expand in the barrel...to me sounds just like a lot of BS!
The stun darts really like a litlle lead split shot countered into em.
Experiment with sizes. 👍🏻🏴
Just bought one. Inserting the dart in till it clicks. It’s nearly impossible to blow out. Put it till it clicks twice and it falls out. Where should it be? Thanks
can you re-use blow darts
now i can keep them damn squirrels outta my bird feeder
Cheers for pointing out the importance of humane shots. I come across all manor of wildlife with darts sticking out of their legs and what not, and it just sickens me.
I live in Australia, and I see kangaroos with these little hunting darts in their thigh; it makes you think:
"What were they thinking?!"
Once again, cheers.

Seems legit.
you can use exacto blades to modify there bamboo darts to be the most deadly i have seen while maintaining accuracy.....

can the darts penetrate bone?
Do you guys know when the mini broadheads will be back in stock? I really would like to buy some.
I'M STEALING IGTEASLEY'S IDEA AND I LEFT A COMMENT ON YOUR OTHER VIDEO. I just want to thank you for considering making humane hunting darts again. It really means a lot to the blowgun/ cold steel community. :)
can u guys please start selling big bore blowgun mouthpieces
You guys goofed. At 6:17 you can see that Lynn is shooting just the five foot blowgun, where less than a minute earlier he had attached the 2 foot extension to it, clearly defined with a bit of white tape where the extension joins the rest of the blowgun.
@AnAxetoGrind It isn't supposed to stun animals lol. Its to stun attackers
how'd the blow gun go on Rabbit's
When I'm at a playground of children.
8:16 - 8:24
Puts on the extension. 6:18 no extension. Magic
Thanks for video
BRING BACK THE RAZOR TIP BROADHEADS!!!
So possibly yes?
nice shorts lol
Has this set. Garbage darts. The cone ends would come off.
You can glue them in...
Plus, for larger game you want the dart to come out of the cone for penetration.
so cool
This guy looks like doug heffernan from "king of queens"
