My friends had changed, people grew up, moved away, lost contact. It was a very grey experience yet at the same time somewhat refreshing. Also, on a specific level, I had a few relationships coming to an end during that time and it all seemed to melt together into the song. It was kinda saying that no one was wrong, and we didn't mean to lose each other and move on but it just happens. You can't fuck with it.

For those of you who believe Avril and Evan never dated, you were wrong. And I can prove it. 4 years ago (in 2003) I went to an Avril concert and was lucky enough to go to her meet and greet. Before Avril came out to sign for the fans, I spotted her and Evan sharing a kiss at the top of the stairs. I don't think they knew anyone was watching but it was SO cute. I wish I had a camera. I'm a witness. They were obviously together. I have hope for them to get back together one day. Screw Deryck.
