Jack this food plot is a 1/2 acre in the middle of the Adirondacks. "Drilling" over the beans was not an option

Hey, nice videos! Keep up with the wealth of knowledge you give everyone. Quick question, what type of disk or tiller are you using in this video?

Plot looks good, but it looks like it's not getting browsed and that's the point of food plots.

+Huntinhungryhippos Thank you. I can assure you this food plot saw plenty of deer, turkeys and even bears feeding in these oats !

His video was posted in early September. The Oats become a major draw when natural browse dies off. When autumn is in full swing there is very little left from natural browse. This field will likely be heavily used come late October. That is the idea, he did everything perfect. And a lot of people plant their cereal grains too early. You want young, palatable, tender, new growth & the ideal planting window for the north is around 1st week of Sept. Nice looking plot!! Way to be proactive with a solution to the overbrowsed beans!

I am actually going to do a food plot and i want to do a mixture of oats and clover...... did you use a specific brand such as biologic or just go to your local tractor supply or something?

Do you have any tips as far as Treestand cover goes and stuff like that?

    • @MaloneNYDeerhunter1

+Ashton Zills Yea, position your stands so you are not skylined against the open sky. Deer see your movement a lot easier that way

If I don't move I could get away with very little cover on a tree?

woulda been more efficient to drill over the beans instead of discing it under
