Hello friends, i am a senior citizen residing at Chennai, since my birth around 70 years ago. I have seen traffic free Anna salai (Mount road then) and Parrys corner. Car owners were rich, only upper middle class afford a 2 wheeler bike or a scooter.
Now the point is most of the 2 wheeler riders are jumping the signals, overtaking both sides and many a times driving on the platform, which is 75 % occupied by street vendors, parked 2 wheelers, sometimes 4 wheelees too. Poor pedestrians has to find a small walking place if any or forced to walk on the main road. They also drive rashly on the platform, if someone questions them they abuse us. No respect for children, ladies, senior citizens. Sometimes i curse them they should be punished. But nowadays karma doesn't seem to be active. Happens only in movies. God save the country.

I like how everyone is speaking against this rich corrupt guy but no one talks about the corrupt police officers..They unnecessarily impose fines.One day I was riding as a pillion with my friend both of us were wearing helmet..I suddenly got a itch in my forehead so I lifted up the helmet exactly 40 fts away from checking point and then I put it back..those guys booked a challan immediately.I complained against them but nothing happened I had to pay the fine.So if u r rich u can get away by threatening them..if u r a middle class guy u can't do nothing and have to beg them to leave you..so whenever u can, threaten them and evade fine cuz so much of today's police officers are literally dogs on a scavenging mission for some extra bucks.they don't give a shot about their duty.

Respecting laws is very important.. But there cannot be a "universal law", which can be best n applicable in all situations.. For example, in my city, traffic is so much that it is not possible to drive above 30 on most roads.. No wide n straight roads as one would see in metro cities.. Rather, I see increasing cases of back pain n cervical spondylitis due to helmets.. Based on local situations n common sense, some flexibility is also expected from law makers n law keepers!

I bought a new helmet in 1968, and in 1969 it saved my life when a big collie dog ran in front of me and I killed him. My helmet had asphalt imbedded in the front of it. My leg was broke and it was 4 months before I could ride again. I wear a helmet to this day.

See, that's what happens when you don't wear a helmet. My sister's ex-husband crashed on his motorcycle a few months back and died instantly. He wasn't wearing a helmet. They had pictures of him at his funeral. One picture that really caught my eye was one with him and his four brothers, all by their own motorcycle -- not one helmet in sight. I think I see another funeral in his family in the near future. The helmet is a very important item for protection of your delicate brain. DON'T GO RIDING A MOTORCYCLE, MOTORBIKE, OR ANY BIKE WITHOUT ONE!!!
