This mean we should not talk about this or study how women can prevent this? Men learned to deal with their most frequent injuries with special trainings and knowledge from the last 70 years of profesional football experience, why are you complaining in this case?? Or maybe you a genius who knows all about it even when doctors are just starting to study why this happen. Seriously.. WHAT IS YOUR COMPLAIN??
Because of their hip/knee structures due to their ability to give birth. Many women are also naturally knock kneed meaning their knees cave in more naturally! It’s just female anatomy!!
If you look at the videos of ACL injuries in women and men, you will see that the vast majority of men's injuries occur during strong tackles, whereas women's injuries tend to occur at any time, but there is one factor that seems to have been overlooked. In the men;s game, if you watch players they tend to "plant" themselves into the ground for stability, whereas women tend to _raise_ their centre of gravity just before injury. In short, men tend to load the knee, then turn, whereas women tend to turn and then load the knee
I have been wondering about this issue for ages, because it happens so frequently, and it never once occurred to me that an ACL injury could be linked to menstrual cycles. 😲
@@Kyrelel Yeah, it's purely coincidence that almost all the players who have suffered non-contact ACL injuries have said that it happened during the same stage in their menstrual cycles. Plus, it's a medical fact that women's joints are weakened by hormone changes when their periods are approaching.
5 in top 20 female footballers-finalist list for the Ballon D’or- have injured their Acl in the last year. That’s 25% of the top flight players. Mead- England Miedema- Netherlands, Katoto-France, Macario-USA and #1 Putellas-Spain… that’s not good at all.
Easy solution. Just reduce the halves to 20 mins. Obviously giving them equal pay if not more than the men for the superior higher quality football they will be able to produce in that shorter time period.
If I would have to take a guess, I would say there may be a link with Testosterone and muscles strength... It could be that men's bodies are prepared by hormones like testosterone from young age; so may be Men's ACL connections may be stronger and wider.
I read that one of the reason is that women rather tend to have x-legs which enhances the probability the acl to rupture. Of course men with x-legs have then the same tendency...just that they rather have o-legs...I don´t have either, am male, and ruptured twice my cl, acl + pcl within 3 years...still recovering and hope to play once again.
i think it's due to the inherant lack of accountability in women and expecting their ligaments to just work under certain load, like when they expect planes to just wait for them to finish browsing duty free.
The main reason is obvious. Both mens and womens football are concentrating on the major events. Sounds like a curse when the World Cup countdown goes near, good players got injured because they played a bad football. In men's World Cup this year in Qatar, we lost Sadio Mane, Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante, Diogo Jota, Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner, Marco Reus, and so on. Kyle Walker, Kalvin Philips, and Son Heung min were initially injured, but still fit enough to plau. Later, Gabriel Jesus and Lucas Hernandez ruled out of the football after playing the World Cup matches. In the men's Euro the last year, Virgil Van Dijk also missed out with Netherlands because of ACL injury, but now his good fortune was returned. He was able to led his team to 2022 UCL Final with Liverpool and 2022 World Cup QF with Netherlands. The injury pandemic that happened for men's football before and during the tournament seems to be a red alert for the women's football before the World Cup kicks off in Australia and New Zealand the next summer. In women's Euro, Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas had an ACL injury, missing out the tournament itself. Then, players such as Beth Mead, Marie Katoto, Catarina Macario, and now Vivianne Miedema had the same symptoms. I think recovering ACL injuries took around 1 year to fully fit enough to play. There is a huge chance players might got retired immediately like Deisler, Solskjaer, or Van Basten.
No need for any of the guessing. The male body is as nature intended a stronger body than the female. Woman are now playing multiple sports which are men’s games. Like it or not these sports never had women in mind, full respect to women for making a path into men’s sports, the downside is the injuries simply because the science because of money is only now catching up
The fact that women are training and playing more frequently to try and catch the mens game is a factor, also womens bodies are different or womens bodies arent designed to take heavy loads or because its all women nobody cut the grass 😂
Why does every player in the sport no matter what gender fall down if they are lightly tapped every single time almost like they were shot 10 times!?!? This is what I don’t understand about the sport because it happens every single time almost and they act so dramatic and everybody knows they are faking it and they pop up right away shortly after like nothing ever happened? The first time that happens they should be kicked out but apparently the sport loves that faking girly Bs. They have always done it and it’s pathetic. The rules are also stupid about penalty kicks at the end of a major major major tournament. To go all that way and put in all that work/falling down to get to a final game and then it goes to penalty kicks with a giant net and fall basically right in front of it so it’s a goalie is screwed. There shouldn’t be penalties in any major tournament or a game they should play until they literally drop if they can’t score a goal. If that happens then I guess they aren’t fit enough 🤷♂️🤣 The dumbest rule there is. No I will have a bunch of people wanting to attack me because they’re mad I talked about their sport.. go ahead and try to guess where I’m from and what sports I like so you can target them I don’t care because they are REAL mens Sports that are 1000 times more exciting. The sport I like actually takes pride in getting back up once you have blood all over your face or have been hurt or any situation. They get back up instantly. I’m calling at soccer because they don’t deserve for it to be called football with the way they dive and at like dramatic school girls.
Men & women have different body structures and different strengths & weaknesses, what a shocker.
This mean we should not talk about this or study how women can prevent this?

But men and women are the same !!

I have ruptured my ACL and my medial meniscus, had the surgery and I can empathise with these women, hoping for more research to be done!

Evidence suggests it is not.

That's fascinating. I hope they can find the link.

Yes, it also happens in the military too.

There's a very high possibility that some crazy feminist would call this sexist 😂🤦🏽♂️
wait equal pay

What is acl
The anterior cruciate ligament the tendon that holds together your knee

because women are not designed to run around kicking a ball.
Too much rubbing against each other
excessive cricketing
Because they can’t stand on their own😂 seriously bad joke .
Uh oh
I think the calls for more research on women footballers ACL injuries is a bit steep. i mean FIFA is hardly made of money. Cmon.
It's due to sexism. Probably racist as well.
They got girly knees. Thats your answer. Thats it
Why do u think u know more than medical professionals 😂
clearly didn't watch the video
thank you doctor riley
Its because women are not physically designed to combat and compete at the rate and exertion as men
Let me guess the patriarchy?

i think it`s because of the women's hormone cycle
