- I wanted to make an AMV/drift tape type video in BeamNG.drive with the cars from the first season of Initial D on Mt. Akina. The r32 has been replaced with an r34 as the r32 that exists does not have an interior and I had to modify the 200bx to look like Ryosuke's FC.

Man, my father used to told me he had 3 Truenos and a Levin, an MR2 and a Celica Supra before I was born, as I watched old videos of him driving those cars :( I’ve just started watching Initial D last month and damn, watching every cars is so special and haven’t even finish the 4th stage.... to watch you doing something like this is memorable for me, the nostalgia and the vibes you put in with the music makes me wonder about how legendary Japanese cars were at the time without even driving

Shameless self promo but the closest thing I have to Kenji drifting is my 180sx video. The drifts aren't flashy but the technique is interesting. See if you can spot it if you decide to watch the video!

very impressive video, i can tell you are struggling to drift using a keyboard but even so you managed to do it really well! So props to you!
I actually used a controller for this video. I use a wheel now but it was really hard to drift when I first started.
@@Dingo135 yea when you have a wheel is when the fun begins lmao, actual drifting and controlling the weight from left to right is essential for a wheel, while using a controller it doesn't matter much since you can go lock to lock extremely easily
@@jasper39488 there is something special about zero steer controller drifting though. I still can't replicate the same stuff I did before switching to wheel.
I have been going for less flashy and faster drifting recently. I'm nowhere near perfect at it but I think it's more fun than the big angle stuff. Here's a pretty bad run I did a little while ago. Not every corner is drifted but I tried to keep the rear out for most of them.

well your driving is very smooth id say, would love to race you sometime if you play assetto. I have assetto but I have been playing beam for so long that assetto feels too forgiving. I can do basically anything in it and be fine while thats not possible in beam.

TBH Wangan Midnight is a better car anime. I mean in Initial D you have Eurobeat and drifting, but Wangan Midnight gets the technical details right and explores more interesting themes than Tofu Drifty Boi. Both series fall off in the later parts, but there's no way an N/A 4-cylinder Corolla is faster than any of the cars he beat in the later episodes, even with a fancy racing head and camshafts that lets him rev to the moon. A 600hp turbocharged carbureted I6 with computer-controlled ignition winning against a GTR is a lot more believable than an (at most) 220hp NA I4 with distributor-controlled ignition, when both engines are in a lightweight shitbox.

I didn't have access to a good R32 when I made this so I had to use an R34.
Drifting in Beam is all about quick actions and getting a good entry. A lot of people I have spoken to say that it is extremely easy to spin out so a good entry is key. This video was done with controller but I have moved on to wheel. Wheel is very different from controller and I'm making a video explaining my style with wheel. For controller, I brake, turn into the corner, pull the handbrake, countersteer immediately and hit the gas. I release the countersteer and only use it when I really have to.

@@Dingo135 i mean i know how to drift but damn never seen someone to drift like you (and it's in beamng.drive- if it was in forza i would understand how that drifts can go like that but sheeeeesh you got skills)
@@nitropin I'll let you in on what I was doing for these drifts. I'm using a wheel now but this video was done with a controller. My braking here isn't as refined as it is now so I'm braking very hard and letting the tires lock up. (It looks kinda cool but is really inefficient.) That style of braking causes heavy understeer so I pull the handbrake while turning in to initiate. Right after the handbrake, I accelerate and countersteer at the same time to get the angle I want and then I try to stop using the steering. I keep my foot on the gas a lot so I need to give steering inputs but my ultimate goal with controller was to never need to steer aside from entering a corner. At the end, I am pretty much forced to countersteer again to correct any excess angle I had because of a bad corner entry. I saw and still see excess steering as the one thing that I don't want to do during cornering. Now with a wheel, I try to keep my right hand on it and never let go. (Kinda like God Hand from Initial D.)

Nice "No Texture" taillights on the 200BX man. (take this as a joke, it can happen to everyone, its not the player's fault, and if the taillights are stock, consider reinstalling the game as long as youre on Steam)

There are multiple hotfixes for the 86 and I forget which one makes it sound like that. I have changed the sounds since using that one. This version of the 86 sounds like one irl so use this one:

how are you driving and doing the camera? i had my camera fixed and i want to learn how to follow the car with it.
You can record a replay of your driving with the replay ui app and just record parts of the replay. Press shift and c together to get free cam and the camera path editor can be accessed by pressing f11 and clicking on its button at the top. You place camera markers at certain times in the replay and the camera will follow them.

That video was actually really good. I wish there were more Initial D cars, especially an FC, in Beam so I could make another video like this but with higher production quality. Keep it up man!

The main stages of Initial D are great. The legend movies are good too but for reasons other than the main series.

@@9q09 They cut out some events from the first season and changed Takumi's personality but the biggest flaw is removing eurobeat. They are good movies as movies but they could have been much better.

That 86 was built off of the one provided in the mod and I did not know that there were watanabe rims in beam when I made this.
What's your favorite drift vehicle in BNGD?
It really depends on how I'm feeling and the road. If you put a gun to my head and made me answer, it would be the AE86 or the 180SX, which was converted to the Sileighty in this video.

Yeah, that's one of the many faults with this video and I would redo it but it probably won't blow up like this one did so I don't see much of a point to redo it.

Who's this R34?
It says in the description that the R34 was supposed to be Nakazato. I didn't have a good R32 at the time so the R34 was the closest thing I had.

I'm great FaN of the initial D, so much, sad to say,,, the European, supercars, & the HyperCars,,, Lamborghini VenenO, Bugatti Chiron & Pagani zonda R , cannot drift on Real life, only on grip race,, only can do just Grip, cannot customize into the drift machine,,, they made me laugh 😆😂😅
