I just googled acromegaly and it's not even that bad. Glands produce more growth hormone, causing hands and feet to grow. While it's not curable, it's treatable and if you receive treatment life expectancy can return to normal. Author mentioned Stephen Hawking so I think he got acromegaly and ALS mixed up.

The novel states it's not treatable and acts as though it's an absolute death sentence, which it's not. Also, the novel states that Stephen Hawking had it, which he didn't. He had ALS. The story is super slow moving and meant to be emotional (AI voice and bad translation kill that though) so don't expect excitement. Ever. Don't expect revenge or really anything much in this video. Id say the exciting and interesting parts are another 20 more hours away. Yes the story moves that slowly. Sucks the author had some high pointless word count to hit and ruined any chance of a good story.

I'm 5 hours in and if you ask me the protagonist is an asshole. I can understand that he dislikes the family but a lot of it is his own fault with him staying for four years while being mistreated and abandoning his adoptive family. And for what, to get some love out of his biological family even if he had a loving family already? I can agree that them being cold to him were a bit much and didn't treat him right but they didn't do anything too outrageous and it was his own choice to stay instead of going back to the family that took care of him and loved him. He complains that they accept an adoptive child they had for 18 years over him that only been there for 4 years just because he's their blood brother. He complains that they never accepted him when he acted like a submissive servant without talking back about his treatment and just accepted it with his head down. He bitch and moans about their treatment of him and cut them off when most of it is self inflicted and his own decision. He choose to abandon his loving family, he choose to stay in the family that didn't care for him for 4 year, he choose to do all things they asked of him and only because they were blood related. Yes he's 14 but it didn't seem like anything stopped him from going back to the other family. When they try to apologize and make it up he telling them how horrible they are and that they didn't accept him so they don't deserve a second chance. If you ask me it's him being an asshole, it's up to him to forgive but he don't even want to give them a second chance or think about it. I could accept him not wanting anything to do with them right now, but what about a year into the future or a decade. The only thing they did was treating him coldly and didn't give him things, yes they told him what to do but he never tried to do anything else or just leave. They didn't hit him, they allowed him to eat and it didn't seem like they restricted his freedom of movement. If you ask me they deserve a second chance with them trying their hardest to make it up for what they did which I would say isn't unforgivable, I don't mean that he should forgive them immediately, but maybe over a long period of time. But I guess this is just how China works, if you're wronged by someone that person doesn't deserve to be forgiven how much they may try. I can't stand this story with such a self righteous prick as mc that put all the blame on everyone else and doesn't take accountability for his part in all of this. Yes he is a victim, but he choose to abandon his family with him not even trying to contact them in secret just because the family said so and it was his decision to accept the treatment of the family without trying other things.
