You are correct that your case is not fair! People leave things on summer and low boil all the time. My aunt’s kitchen caught fire in the same way. No one even tried to blame her and it was still one of the most stressful things ever!

The stove was broken but we did not know and it dripped oil, we found out last year it was a building issue…😏
