- Donald Trump, somber and bandaged, is accepting his party’s presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention.
His speech is largely ignoring his most divisive plans and focusing instead on uniting his party - and the nation - just five days after an assassination attempt that could have ended his life.
The 78-year-old former president, known best for his bombast and aggressive rhetoric, is instead offering a softer and deeply personal message. He says: “I’m not supposed to be here tonight. There was blood pouring everywhere, yet, in a certain way I felt very safe because I had God on my side.”

How embarrassing! To make all those claims about getting Corey's uniform for the convention and then MISSPELLING his last name on the prop that was created! I guess I shouldn't be too surprised really. Honesty, integrity, and attention to detail were never values held in high esteem by Trump or his team.
It was his actual uniform, the firehouse said his name was misspelled on his uniform years ago and for whatever reason he never got it fixed.
