some of these you will already know - You can configure woodcutters to only cut up to but never into glades UNLESS you marked them. - also, whenever you change priorities or configure the woodcutters, if you press SHIFT while you do it, you apply it to all identical units/buildings - hovering over a building and pressing SHIFT lets you craft a duplicate. Pressing M moves it if able. - i strongly recommend fully staffing 2 woodcutters from the very start of the game every start, to make space and ensure wood supply, and rush one or two small glades to choose your blueprints better - You really want to start increasing the difficulty higher than you HAVE to, so you get more seals, more materials to unlock your tech tree, and get used to later seals REQUIRING high tiers of difficulty. --> if that feels too hard, make it a habit to increase difficulty for the missions where you get the additional embarkation points - those help a lot to get established early on harder settings - The only exception to the above is the seals themselves - i recommend you always play those at the LOWEST difficulty you can pick, because they become very punishing very fast if you mess up or get an unlucky event early love to see you get more into against the storm, one of my all time favorites. even cooler that my favorite EL channel picked it up. a PS: Trading is BROKEN strong. You may think it is good, it's better.
If you're worried about woodcutters breaching a glade at an inopportune time, you can tell them to only open glades when the trees dircetly next to the glade are marked. The setting are availiabe when selecti g the woodcutter building.
You would probably get a lot of joy out of the woodcutters options, like „avoid glades”
