Travel Spanish with Claire wants to visit Ecuador in the future, but it seem to be that the energy situation has posponed it. She is living in Lima right now and has made some very intesting about her life.
I've heard more people dunk on hydroelectric as a whole since I got here than I ever did growing up in a place that relied on hydro and went through droughts, etc and kept on running. The cheapness of hydro is generally on the consumer side- it's not easy or cheap to build and maintain large hydroelectric facilities, tho. There was an entire plan to expand the electric grid to incorporate renewables, also, that never got implemented.
Hey Ace, thanks for using my comments. Great post, and I really hope your government is watching. Spend a Billion to save Billions. Then do a bit more every year.,..
@@kennethsteadman3817 just enjoy nature. Other than the first world benefits that they're used to aren't in Ecuador. If you not Ecuadorian by birth you won't get used to it. Maybe some will, highly rare though
@ Dude, if you’re pitching a tent in the backwoods? Fine. However, for the vast majority of people from DEVELOPED nations, electricity is a necessity. Period.
Amazing content
Doing great Ace! Keep up the good work!
interesting analysis, i.e. solar is now affordable

Do the powers that be in government also go without electricity?

I'm fully expecting the apagones to come back after the holidays. Hope I'm wrong!

if the power outages are not staged then how can they give an exact end date
I have given up on Ecuador. I don't want to live where electricity is questionable. Sorry!!!
Don't come if you not from there to live. Stick to where you from, just come for tourism
@@markomark9587 So, you don’t need electricity to enjoy your vacation? Hmmm….

Not a problem, that is a reasonable response to what the situation is like right now and looking towards the future that’s best for you.
