    I have been shooting film since 1958. I as given a Odak Brwne Hawkeye clone and I loved it. It's 2024 and I still love shooting film. Very good video!

    Yes, my 1st 35mm roll of film was shot sometime in November 1985, a cold morning in the country. Everything I shot that day outside turn out fine due the great internal camera metering, however every shot took inside the house with the flash turn out to be way under expose, couldn't see much. I had to learn how to use the flash with my camera, that took 2 more roll of films. Enjoyed the moment and don't be afraid to experiment.

    I've shot film throughout my life, with a short break in the first decade and a bit of this century when I became a digital nerd. Now I'm a digital media academic and film is the salve to my binary bits. Thanks for making the idea of film accessible to the masses, even if that's going to drive the price up! Good luck finding cheap drug store film. My suggestion is, go the lab/scan approach with colour to begin with and then explore the joys of black and white and home development and scanning. Cheaper, fun, and a whole new aesthetic!

    Your previous videos helped inspire me to buy a film camera after more than a 20 year gap. I can’t believe I’m back where I started after watching the digital revolution mature. I bought a Nikon N80, one of the last film cameras they made, hoping to incorporate as much helping technology that existed at the time. I’m half way through my first roll. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks for your encouragement and enthusiasm!

    I shoot Sony's (soulless but very competent) and a wonderful big pixel Nikon (still prefer that old digital over the super duper Sonys) ---- and because I like that Nikon so much, I keep thinking about shooting film again ----- probably cannot get a d/room happening at home (sigh), but mebbe I could shoot some b/w and then decorate the wall behind my work terminal with prints.... hmmm, which would mean I'll need a Nikon so my lenses match, haha (Ai/AI-S) ---- sounds like a plan.

    I have not shot film since 2005 when i bought my first DSLR Pentax of course. Insted of buying the new Pentax 17 i decided to recondition my Spotamatic my film preferences was Kodak 400 i kept in one camera body a Pentax ME Super program the other camera Kodak 1600 the film i used to photograph the Sistine Chaple when you could photograph it. I perfer to use my Minolta light meter for metering over the camera light meter as i feel it is more accurate.

    Great video and a great message for beginners to not be intimated. I didn't shoot film for the longest time at first because I was too intimidated but I'm so glad I got over that and learned how to shoot film. Now I love it! 🌸✨

    The M42 Takumar lenses are amazing! Beautiful bokeh, and a buttery smooth focus ring. I bought a few last year to use with video and didn't spend more than $50 per lens. I actually bought a Spotmatic just for the lens, but now I'm excited to use it for some stills. Your shots at the end are lovely!

    Love your video, does that museum in Paris have a website? I kinda like the looks of those grand flowers and would love too see more! :D Sorry, I just couldn't resist...Do you shoot in medium format? I got my first film camera since what like 15 years and am super excited about getting back into shooting film. Just waiting for the weather too clear. Keep shooting!

      @lottamilde Рік тому

      Haha, I don't think the museum exists... Yes, I actually have a Mamiya654 and recently got a Mamiya6. I mostly started using medium format because it's easier to get film. I haven't had the Mamiya6 long enough to have an opinion, but I'm planning to review it once I have enough info! Thanks for watching.

      Search "Jardin des plantes de Paris". It's considered a museum.
      Don't know if it's the same one that the shirt is referring to, but I assume so.

  • @trotomas
    @trotomas Рік тому +1

    to be honest i disagree with recommending spotamatic because it hasn't the precision of later cameras both meccanically and electronically, i would suggest something like a minolta xd that are still affordable, a nikon fe (fm if you really need a meccanical camera), pentax super A, various contax like the 137....if you don't care about electronic so af cameras from the 90's are a bagain...by the way spotmatic is not cheap beause most of them need a cla

      I can see that! There‘s a thousand great cameras out there and I do think that 90s point-and-shoot cameras can be great as starters. I just love my spotmatics and think most people would enjoy them! 😊 Thanks for watching!

      The problem with 1990’s point and shoot cameras are once they break they are through cost alone unfixable. I would always buy a SLR and a decent make. Still at a low price. There are plenty of options out there. Pentax will never let you done. M42 or K mount options are great.
